A Long Way From Home

Y/N's POV

I didn't get much sleep last night, I heard so many wolves that it made it hard for me to drift off. They seemed angered by something, what it was I did not know. However, I know enough about wolves that I like to call myself an expert half the time. I got out of bed and walked over to my window. It was very big and made it easy for me to see all the trees and mountains that were behind my apartment. I loved living here, I just love the open space. I saw two wolves walking back and forth along where the forest opened up. They must be scouting for other wolves that might attack their territory. It happens a lot here, which got me thinking that maybe I live within a wolf territory.

"That might not be good." I said sounding worried. If I ever come across a pack member and he or she warns their pack, then I'm not going to be alive for long. Like I said before wolf packs are very protective of their territory.  I watched the two wolves tread lightly near the trees. I decided to go and get something to eat because I was starving and it was almost 12:00pm.

Hoseok's POV

I was outside waiting for Asher and Cayden to get back from scouting. I sent them out last night after we had three strays run into our territory. Not that I'm mad at them, I'm actually glad we have new recruits. Kai, one of our newbies has been healing all night and at around 2:00am he finally changed back into his human form. It was not pretty though, he was screaming in pain and there was nothing I could do. For now he's resting on one of our beds. Vlad and Topaz have been checking up on him all night long. I think it was a good idea that I gave Topaz the other Lota role. She's very good at her job. I couldn't sleep last night because I was thinking about what job I could give Fang and his brother, once he heals of course. This morning I came to the conclusion that Fang was very good at being defensive and he saved his brother's life, so I decided to give him and his brother Eta roles. Taehyung is the Zeta of our pack, he is like a war general. Whenever our pack is at war with another pack, Tae comes up with the plan and runs it by me. The Eta's are the warriors of our pack and before Fang and Kai, we only had two, Ash and Scar. But now we have four which is a good number of warriors.

"Hoseok! I thought you might be out here." I heard Asher say as he and Cayden came running up to me. Both sweating and panting.

"How was the scout? See any strays?" I asked looking over at them with a smile.

"Nah, we didn't see anyone all night." Cayden said as he put his hands on his knees panting hard.

"Oh, alright. Thanks for doing that you two, it helps me out a lot." I smiled and they both smiled back at me.

"No problem, Hoseok. Anytime you need us, just let us know." Asher said as he put his hand on my shoulder. I laughed and Cayden waved and went inside the house.

"Hey, can we talk?" Asher asked me as he removed his hand from my shoulder and looked to the trees.

"Yeah, what's up?" I said sounding a little worried. Asher has been my Tau for a long time and I was concerned that he might want to leave the pack. A Tau is the lead scouter, he's in charge of the Upsilon's during a scout. The Upsilon's are the other scouts or spies.

"I think we need a new Upsilon." Asher said firmly as he looked at me. I felt a rush of relief that he didn't want to leave.

"Really? Why's that?" I asked looking back at him.

"We don't have enough eyes to scan the territory with only two of us, we need at least one more. There are a couple of blind spots when there's only two of us." He explained.

"Okay, well, we don't have anyone for that spot currently. However, with all the strays that we got yesterday, I'm sure that there will be more and then we'll see if they're willing to join our pack and become a Upsilon." I replied smiling at him. He smiled back and nodded.

"Okay, that sounds good. Thanks for hearing me out, Hoseok." Asher beamed as he waved and went inside as well.

I decided to go for a run and clear my head. Being the Alpha is a tough job, but luckily I don't get in shit when I want to leave. I changed into my wolf form and took off, sprinting into the forest. I knew exactly where I wanted to go, I wanted to see her again. Hopefully, she would be there. I'm still curious if she's a hybrid like me, I got a feeling the last time I saw her that maybe she was one. I finally reached the edge of the forest and saw the building where she lived. I wasn't expecting her to be there but a small part of me had a feeling she was there waiting for me. Once I reached the tree line I stopped and sat down, the cool breeze was refreshing. All of a sudden I smelt two wolves nearby and got ready if I needed to either attack or flee. They came up from behind me and I turned around to see Jungkook and Taehyung both in their wolf forms. I shook my head and looked back at the building. They slowed down and both sat beside me. It was risky to change back into our human forms in case someone was watching us. Jungkook and Taehyung both looked over at me and I could sense that they were both smirking. It made me laugh in my head. Out of the blue I saw her again, and my heart couldn't help but beat faster.

Y/N's POV

I was on my balcony just sipping my cup of tea that I made. I was looking out at the mountains when I got a glimpse of not one, not two, but three wolves sitting on the tree line. I recognized the black one, he was the one I saw a few days ago. I don't know why but my heart started to race, not because I was scared but because I felt such a powerful feeling when I looked at him and he was looking at me. The other two wolves that we sitting next to him were also looking directly at me, I never knew that wolves just sat there are stared at people. It was kind of funny though, I thought it was sweet that they were curious about humans and their nature. One of the other wolves was mostly a mixture of this beautiful dark brown colour and a lighter brown. The second wolf had black on his back that went up to his head but below that he was this brown colour. Both were just as mesmerizing as the black wolf that captivated me from the very beginning. I've always loved the different colour coats of wolves. If I were a wolf however, I would want to be all white. Like the most purest of whites and have gorgeous eyes that stood out from my fur.

Hoseok's POV

As Jungkook, Taehyung and I were watching her, Taehyung stood up and nudged me, telling me that we should leave because we're probably freaking her out. Jungkook got up as well and they started to walked away. Before they got too far, Jungkook turned around to face me and made a gruff noise to get my attention. I looked back and nodded slightly as I stood up too, but before walking away I looked back at the beautiful woman that has me intrigued. After that, we took off running back into the forest.
