Growing even more frustrated Nathaniel snatched the letter from him, folding it and tucked it in his back pocket.

“I think it’s Allyssa,” he ran his finger through his hair.

“She texted, saying she has a surprise for me.”

“Okay but that’s very sweet of her, don’t you think?” Harold reasoned with him. “...if it was her.” he added.

“I know, but I can’t accept it.”

“Of course, you can. Come on, dude! This person, Allyssa, or whoever it is, thought of you dearly, and by the looks of that letter wants romantic encounter with you. You should wear it out of courtesy if anything and if it’s Allyssa, you can meet her and thank her politely, and if it’s your secret girlfriend, then you can just... you know,” he laughed hard, his smile suggestively at Nathaniel.

Nathaniel looked between Harold and the tux for a couple of moments as if debating with himself.

“Stop over-thinking, Nathaniel. You’ll never find a stunning tux as this one in three days, so just take it. Stop being stubborn. Come on, get up. Fit this thing!” Harold was persuading him, giving Nathaniel a little pushed.

Nathaniel huffed and let out a small. “Okay,” as he looked at him, giving him a smirked.

There was a long line of limousines in front of the hotel “Casa De Luna” as young socialites excited with their dates on their arms. A steady influx of students that didn’t really look like students tonight in their expensive suits and night gowns, but rather as mini copies of their socialite parents that would end up talloring the destinies of loss fortunate people, entered richly decorated ballroom.

Saint Helen’s Academy was recognized for its Annual Christmas Gala. It was basically one of the main annually events in the libes for the upper-class teenagers. It was a tradition for this prestigious school, and every subsequent year they went out of way to make it even more memorable than the previous year.

Young people were cordially greeting each other, chatting and mingling everywhere. Caterers were hurriedly carrying trays with appetizers and drinks, non-alcoholic of course, around. Everything was decorated in Christmas theme, which was nice, Nathaniel guessed.

There was a huge crystal chandelier above them, sparkling with thousands of lights. Soft classical music was playing the background. To him all of this seemed exaggerated, artificial in a way. He thought that by now, he would have gotten to the lavishness of these galas but apparently he was wrong.

He sipped on his bubbly drink, socializing with his peers, but really was alert, scanning the room for the only person he looked forward to seeing.

As suspected by the mysterious sender, his tux fit perfectly, and he looks stunningly handsome than usual. His honey blond hair was combed on the left side of his head, managing to make himself decent, at least that’s what he thought.

He was smiling at people. Allyssa by his side, jumping at his every request, trying too hard to impress him or whatever.

He was contemplating to thank her for the tux in this moment or later when he meets up with her, but he decided it might be better later. If it is her, I will apparently have to have “the talk” with her again, he sighed, his gaze scanning the room repeatedly.

Nathaniel pulled on Allyssa’s hand gently, leading her through the ballroom, greeting some of their friends. “Look, a mistletoe.” she said above them. Nathaniel looked in the direction of her finger, only to have her steal a little kiss from his lips when he head around looking for Andrew’s presence.
