The waves of change crash into shores of solitude,
Humankind sinks deeper into the sands of deception,
Slaughtering one another in the name of entities they cannot see,
Preordained by society , who they can or cannot be,
Judging one's persona by the clothes one wears,
Defaulters rewarded with judgement, prejudice and sinful stares,
Judging one's worth by the color of one's skin,
Unwilling to acknowledge the person within.
The rich feast, like crows, on the poor's plight,
The powerful trample the weak with their might,
Resources pillaged from those in dire need,
A prevalent consequence of mankind's greed.
Women, if born, bound by the shackles of society's command,
Their silent protests shunned like a juvenile demand,
Their cries for help answered with more misogyny,
The triumph of Justice and equality remains a chimeric reverie.
God from the heavens, looked down upon his creation, distraught ,
His heart ached as he witnessed the destruction mankind wrought.
