a rainbow
appeared
in the mellow
evening sky,
from behind
the silver lining,
of clouds
that parted,
after the rain,heads turned,
looked up
in awe,
fingers
pointed
at the sky,
birds
chirped,
children
laughed
as they
jumped
in puddles.I smiled
wistfully
and turned
instead
to where
the streak
of golden light
that shone
along the skyline
slowly
began to fade,
into
an abyss
of
lavender hues.cold wind
caressed
my cheeks,
as I stood
enamored,
by twilight's
ephemeral beauty,
that
reminded me
of us,
a part
of you
still
lingered
in my
memory
after
all these years.a lonely
evening star
shone brightly
as it waited
for the moon,
on a
new moon day.
