------After School: Shibuya's Passageway------

Leaving her sentence in the class hanging in the air, Emiko had quietly returned Ren's phone back to him, feeling that no words needed to be said back then. Slightly taken aback by her sudden silence, Ren hesitantly took his phone before he messaged the rest of the group, telling them to meet him at the hideout for something extremely urgent and important to discuss. Along the way, neither one of the teens dared to say anything to one another so it was oddly quiet between them, especially since Emiko would always take the chance to deliver her sassy remarks. But not that time... perhaps because she felt how serious the situation was? She was quite surprised at the messages too, after all...

Noticing the rest of the gang already waiting for them as they agreed, Ren wasted no time and showed them the messages with the anonymous Alibaba. Their faces twitched in both worry and shock as they further read the conversation, seeing how that person meant serious business.

"Considerin' he mentioned stealin' hearts, he knows, doesn't he?" Ryuji asked surprisingly.

"Seems so..." Makoto trailed.

"How were we found out?" Yusuke asked.

"He may have traced our chat log..." Makoto furrowed her eyebrows.

"How careless of us..." Yusuke murmured under his breath.

Yeah, except that the blame fell on Ren's shoulders for not being careful enough... he blamed himself for putting his comrades' identities on the line. If only he was more cautious...

"But how would he have known all these details with just that...?" Makoto questioned seriously.

"Do you think that there is another cause?" Yusuke asked the brown-haired.

"Yeah. I'm not sure why, but that's the feeling I get." Makoto said.

"Hey, is it that easy to look at someone else's chat log?" Ann asked.

"I have no idea." Ren shook his head.

"I don't know much about it myself, but... it's probably not impossible, I think?" Makoto spoke in a questionable tone.

"How's it done?" Ryuji asked.

"Maybe they extracted our phones' data...? Can you send a message?" Makoto asked the ravenette.

"I get an error every time I try." Ren replied.

"Why's Ren getting an error when he tries to reply?" Ann repeated.

"Perhaps the receiving end doesn't exist?" Makoto questioned.

"That's possible?" Ryuji backed away a little.

"Don't ask me everything. I told you that I don't know much about it." Makoto closed her eyes.

"It IS possible." Emiko blunted with her arms crossed.

"..........!" Everyone's interest was piqued.

"Whaddya mean?" Ryuji asked.

"It's as Makoto just said, the receiving end doesn't exist, or it's also called the 'end link.' It makes the system identify the account as if it doesn't exist which makes you able to receive from the account but unable to send anything to it." Emiko explained further.
