"Okay class, that will be all for today." Ms. Devon finishes erasing the notes on the board then sits down at her desk to collect her papers in her bag. After a few moments and allowing most of the class out of the classroom, you slowly get up from your desk and follow Cayen towards the front of the room. You take your time moving past the desks working to not show how dizzy you are. Raven places her hand on your back to help stabilize you. She moves past you making sure to keep her hand on your back as you make your way to the classroom door.
You nod to Ms. Devon forcing a small smile on your lips as you slowly follow Raven and Cayen out of the classroom.
"Since she let us out early, Y/n I have something I would like to help you do." Your gaze shifts from the wall to Raven allowing her to grab your hand and lead you down the hall.
"Where are we going Raven?" You stare numbly at the corridor in front of you, Cayen's question seems to be very far away.
"Somewhere that will hopefully give Y/n a little peace." Your gaze shifts slowly to Cayen who simply shrugs as Raven leads you both through a clanky metal door.
As all three of you enter the room you see a you looking female with bright red hair sitting by a messy table.
"Y/n," Raven brings you to a seat in the center of the room and lightly pushes you down into the cushions, "you remember Arly, right?" You nod your head, pinching your eyebrows together. Cayen has the same confused look on his face.
"Raven, why did you bring Y/n back to Arly?"
"I am paying for Y/n to get a tattoo to help her remember her parents." You raise your eyes, feeling your head go light, a common feeling you have gotten since taking the alpra-something pill.
"I'm getting a tattoo?"
"If it is alright with you, yes. I think it may be helpful."
"But Raven, I... I'm fine," you attempt to stand up from the seat but Raven pushes you back on the chair and the dizziness in your head tells you to stay in the seat. You nod and try to keep your head from spinning. "Ok, do you have any ideas?"
"A few, I was talking with Cayen," Raven moves over to the table Arly is at and picks up a piece of paper, "he reminded me how much you and your parents love nature and plants." You turn your head to Cayen who looks completely dumbfounded.
"I... I did not know that was the reason for your question," Cayen quickly moves over to Raven and fails at whispering, "I thought you were going to get her a flower or something." Raven shrugs her shoulders and moves towards you, showing you the sketch of flowers.
"They're just simple flowers and we can change the arrangement however you like." You nod your head not taking your eyes off of the beautiful drawings.
You hear a cough in the room and look up to see Cayen doubled over. "Hey bud, you alright." He nods his head as he continues coughing quickly falling onto his knees on the floor as his thin frame shakes from effort. You try to get up but become dizzy from moving too quickly, your pulse speeding up as you hear his trouble to breathe. Raven looks from you to Cayen and quickly nods. She moves towards Cayen and helps him lean on her so he can stand.
"I'm going to bring him home," they start to awkwardly waddle out of the room, "talk with Arly on where you want the flowers placed and don't wait for me if you want to start." Cayen tries to speak something that sounded close to see you later and you remind yourself you need to grab the new oil jar from the sock spot after this. They make their way out of the door leaving with a quick goodbye and Raven saying she'll be back. You try to gulp down air but continue to struggle.
"Okay, so this is a pretty big tattoo," Arly turns back to her table grabbing a few colors, "so there are spots that work better than others." Your eyesight goes blurry and your stomach begins to churn. With Arly distracted you close your eyes and shakily grab a small baggie from your pocket and feel out two oval pills with your fingers. Quickly you throw them down your throat and dry swallow. "Do you think that you would like to stick with the same colors." You keep your eyes closed and push out a small hum as a yes to her question. "Okay." You hear the wheels of her chair roll closer to you.
"Y/n are you okay?" You open your eyes and release your teeth from your bottom lip, not realizing that you started to bite it. You nod your head to Arly and shift your gaze to the ceiling trying your best to control your breathing and calm your heartbeat. "Okay, so where would you like the flowers?" Unable to know that if you move your hands they won't shake uncontrollably, you keep both hands on your legs. You slightly move your right hand and tap your right thigh, hoping Arly didn't notice how much your fingers were shaking. "On your upper thigh? Alright." You hear the shuffling of her wheely chair circling around the chair you are in.
"Suppose it is a good thing that Cayen left then so that no one felt uncomfortable." You nod your head trying your best to help move your pants down past your knees, keeping your gaze on the ceiling that has finally stopped shifting.
You close your eyes and allow the calm to take over your body, feeling your heartbeat slow and your chest relax.
"Feel free to fall asleep hun, this will take a while." You let out a soft hum and allow the calm to drift you away to nowhere.
