A month had passed and Jack's tour was almost over. Their coincidentally their last stop was New York City. Jack hadn't cared as much as I figured he would have, after I explained that I'd come back after their tour was over and they were leaving a day after I did so there was nothing to worry about. Jack and Jack would be in NYC tonight and I couldn't wait. The longer the day went on the more my pulse sped up.
I heard a knock on my door and Taryn went to open it. She looked through the spy hole and was about to open the door when I realized who it could be. "Wait, is it Jack?" I asked. She nodded and I jumped off the couch and ran to the door, nearly pushing Taryn out of the way. I swung the door open and saw Jack standing on the other side. I jumped up and wrapped my legs around his waist and kissed him. "That's my cue to leave," Taryn said and left the apartment.

After Taryn left, Jack and I talked about his tour and my life here. We were snuggled together on the couch and just laid there. I started to doze off until I felt Jack kiss the back of my neck and whisper something. I didn't understand what he had said until I thought about it for a few seconds. As soon as I realized what he had said my heart sped up. "I love you," he had said. I didn't think he knew I was awake so I just didn't say anything. After a few moments, I couldn't fall back asleep so I grapped my phone laying on the floor in front of me. I had a bunch of new messages. All of them were of the same picture and similar comments after it.
The picture was of Jack and some girl I didn't know. The girl was walking through a door and Jack had his hand on her lower back. In my head I started denying it. There could be a thousand reasons that he was walking with this mystery girl, into a building that looked like an apartment, and had his hand on her.
My heart broke, the obvious thing was that he was, or is, cheating on me. I moved his arm which was draped over me and slowly stood up. I walked to my room and paced back and forth. Suddenly, while I was deep in though, the door opened and Jack looked at me funny. "What's wrong? Why are you pacing?" he asked. Did I tell him or did I wait? Was that even a question? "Who is this?" I asked holding up phone with the picture on it.
"She's no one," he denied and I decided that he was cheating on me and I wanted him out. "Get out of here," I said and started pushing him out of my room and to the door. As I was about to close the front door on him he said, "Wait, okay, I'll explain."
I was about to shut the door on him anyway but he was quicker than I and shot through the door. I crossed my arms over my chest and gave in. "Explain." He started to dig though his pockets and pulled something out it. The closer I looked I could tell it was a ring.
"She was helping me design this for you," he must have seen the look on my face because he added, "It's not an engagment ring, not yet anyway. It's just so that no matter how far apart we are or how long we're away from each other, you know that you're mine.
"Then why were you going into an apartment building with her?" I asked, still not believing this story. "I wanted to go somewhere where no one would take pictures to ruin the surprise, but that didn't work out too well."
Tears welled in my eyes and I didn't think he was lying. They fell down my cheecks and Jack wiped them away. "I hate you, Jack. Why couldn't you just tell me that in the first place?"
"I wanted it to be surprise for when we got back to L.A but I didn't think you'd wait that long to let me explain," Jack laughed and I punched him lightly. "Okay, I deserved that."
I took the ring from his hand and slid it onto my finger. "Now let's go do something fun so I stop crying," I laughed, but tears were still running down my face.
"I have an idea," Jack smirked then grabbed my ass.
"Seriously?" I said, although I liked this idea a lot.
"I haven't seen you in a month, of course I'm serious," Jack said, grabbed my hand, and dragged me back to my room.
