I had just got to the practice arena, I was still a bit worried about my wife but she is the doctor so I’ll leave her to it for now. I went into the locker room and got changed, I was headed to the court when I passed by the kitchen area and I heard someone crying. I poked my head in to find Ciara sitting at one of the tables crying, I was just gonna walk away when the whimpering got louder so I gave in to the nice side
“Hey are you alright?” I asked her stepping fully into the room, she jumped to her feet wiping her eyes, and she looked pretty rough her eyes were red, she had makeup running down her face
“Oh Mr. Griffin I’m sorry do you need anything?” She asked wiping her tears
“No, are you okay?”
“I’m fine.” She said looking down
“If you were fine you wouldn’t be crying.”
“It’s stupid and I’m sure you have more important things to worry about.”
“I would have asked if I didn’t care.” I said with a small smile
“It’s my boyfriend, well now my ex-boyfriend he just broke up with me over the phone no reason, no explanation nothing. It’s like just 2 years of my life just wasted. Oh I’m sorry boring you with my man problems.” She said
“It’s okay besides he’s an asshole and he doesn’t deserve you anyway, and if I wasn’t happily married I’d date you.” I said give her a smile, she looked up at me with a huge smile and a weird look in her eye but I thought nothing of it.
“Oh Mr. Griffin.”
“I told you call me Blake.” I told her and she smiled at me again
“Okay Blake, but you should say things you don’t mean.” She said looking down I put a hand on her shoulder
“I never do.”
“Um Blake?” I looked and saw Deandre Jordan aka DJ
“Yeah man.” I said pulling my hand back
“We have practice remember, like right now.”
“Right I’m coming.” I stood and looked back at Ciara
“Are you alright now?” I asked her and she nodded
“Yeah you sure know how to make a girl feel better Blake.” I gave her a polite smile and left the room with DJ
“So what that hell was that?” DJ asked me
“Nothing she was upset about her boyfriend or something and I was just letting her vent.” I said and DJ laughed at me
