Melanie's Pov
When I woke up I felt a lot better, until I saw Blake and our parents along with Callie whispering out in the hall. Whatever they were talking about it seemed serious, they stood there for a while before Blake peaked in and saw that I was up.
"Hey babe." He said coming back into the room, with everyone following
"Hey." I said as he kissed my forehead
"How are you feeling?"
"Better."
"You need to tell me when you're in pain, I don't ever want you in pain when you don't have to be."
"I know I'm sorry." I said and kissed his cheek
"Alright move aside let me see my girl." Gail, Blake's mom said, Blake rolled his eyes and let her through. Gail came over and gave me a tight hug, then let Thomas, Blake's father through to do the same.
"You gave us all quite a scare." Thomas said
"Ain't that the truth." My dad said smiling at me
"Well we are so sorry."
"It's not your fault, oh and Taylor and Marieka send their love. They're trying to get out here sometime this week."
"It's fine, did Blake take you guys to meet your new grandson?" I asked and then there was a tense silence over the room
"What?" I asked confused
"Baby-" Blake started but I cut him off
"Is Austin okay? What happened what's going on."
"Calm down Austin is fine." My mom said taking my hand
"Then what is it?" I asked
"Someone, disconnected the tubes to his ventilator." Blake said, and I felt like I could cry
"Who would do something like that, is he okay?" I asked
"He's fine Mel, he's stable."
"I need to go see him." I said trying to sit up
"No, no, no you need to lay down and rest." Callie said
"No I need to see my son."
"Melanie I am no longer speaking to you as your friend but as a doctor. You need to rest, I was being nice before when I let you go see him. Listen to me Austin is stable, and I promise you I will personally look after him. Right now the only thing you can do for him is rest and get better." She said
"But I'm his mom."
"And Gail and I are his grandmom's we will all take shifts make sure he's never alone okay?" My mom spoke up, I thought about it then I nodded in agreement
"Alright." I said softly
"And while we're on this subject...... Blake go home." My mom said bluntly
"What?" He asked confused
"You've been up here for the past 48 hours, you need to go home and get some rest. The same thing we just told Melanie I'm saying to you. You won't be any good to your family if you're running on fumes." She told him
"But-" He started but this time his mom cut him off
"Everything here will be fine, Melanie's awake, Austin is stable. All of us parents here will make sure they're are safe." His mom said, he sighed knowing he would lose this battle
"I'll be back later." He said to me
"Alright" I said then kissed him
"I love you."
