"Maks, can you stop watching that? Kanina pa ako naiirita, paulit-ulit nalang." Bea said to her friend Maki, who was busy watching the cropped video of ABS-CBN sports featuring her controversial hug to Thirdy during their championship game.
Maki on the other hand, didn't mind her as she continues playing the video in full volume.
Bea heaved a sigh. Of course, she knew Maki to be very stubborn.
"Hay nako, ewan ko sa 'yo! I'm gonna leave my own room nalang. Nakakahiya naman sa 'yo. I thought you went here for us to catch up, but it turns out na you wanted to watch lang pala." She said as she went down her bed.
Mabilis namang siyang napigilan ni Maki sa tangkang paglabas niya ng kwarto.
"O, heto naman si pikon. Heto na po itatabi na 'yung phone. Para namang nag-enjoy lang ako sa panonood ng championship hug niyo ni Thirdy." Maki grinned sheepishly.
Bea glared at her friend. Maki just laughed as she pulls her back to sit on the edge of the bed.
"Maks, can you please move on? It's been more than a month na o. Everybody has moved on from that." She rolled her eyes and went to get the pizza she ordered. She took a big bite and munched the pizza with so much gusto.
"I haven't moved on yet. Your fans haven't, too. And you haven't moved on as well."
Bea choked on her pizza after hearing those words from Maki.
At ang magaling na kaibigan niya, nagawa munang tumawa bago kunin ang baso ng tubig sa may bedside table niya!
"Pfft ---- Bei, napaghahalataan ka. Hahahahaha." Tawa pa rin nang tawa si Maki habang iniinom niya ang tubig na inabot nito.
"That's not a very good joke." Tiningnan niya nang masama si Maki.
"I'm not joking, chica." Of course, her friend was undaunted.
Bea knew she wouldn't win this argument so she decided to just shut her mouth. Kinalikot nalang niya ang remote sa paghahanap ng channel na mati-trip-an niya.
She could still feel Maki's scrutinizing stare but she didn't mind her.
"I don't know why do you always avoid this topic."
Hindi niya pinansin si Maki kasi ayaw niyang mabuksan ang usaping iyon. Alam kasi niyang kapag naumpisahan na nilang pag-usapan iyon, hindi siya makakapagsinungaling sa bestfriend niya.
And that means opening up her bottled feelings.
"I saw you once watching that video alone, and you are smiling while you are playing it again and again!" Nanlalaki ang mga matang napatingin siya dito.
"W-what are you talking about?" She tried to act cool even though she already had a feeling where this conversation will lead on.
"Don't you deny it. Remember when I went here last month. I saw you in the garden. Nakatalikod ka sa akin. I was about to startle you when I saw you watching that championship hug video. So I backed out. And waited for few minutes. I just didn't disturb you then because I don't want you to become uncomfortable." Nakangising sabi nito sa kanya.
Of course, she remembered that! That was the time that she decided to watch the infamous video. She wanted to know why are they making a fuss out of that hug. And that was also the time when she discovered something about herself.
