"I wanted to ask Thirdy about it. Kase the last t-- parang 'di ba, parang Bea said na niyakap ka, or is it about yakap? Niyakap ka ba niya after the championship?"
Her heart hammered fast when she heard the question of Tito Boy. She's currently watching the The Bottomline episode of the Ateneo Blue Eagles.
"Oh. Juicy question." She heard Pat commented.
They were inside their cottage in La Union. She and her high school friends decided to pursue their long overdue beach trip. She didn't hesitate to join them because she wanted to enjoy and forget Thirdy even for a while.
Pero heto siya at saktong pagbukas niya sa tv sa cottage nila ay mukha nito ang nakita niya.
"Yes. She was actually there Tito Boy. Doon sa first or second game. But she was actually there po Tito Boy when we won. And yeah, I saw her after and nagkita po kami."
"Yieeeh." Pat teasingly said. She was only glad that it was only her and Pat inside the cottage. Iniwan muna nila ang mga kaibigan nilang nagkakasayahan pa dahil nagpasama si Pat na kuhanin ang phone nito. She could handle her mild teasing.
"So, what's the status now?"
"We're friends. We're really good friends."
"You're friends. I mean, people are also shipping you and Bea. I mean is there a problem between the two of you?"
Nagulat siya kung paano nasali sa usapan si Isaac.
Pati ba naman friendship nila ni Isaac may issue?
"Ang haba naman ng hair mo, chica." Pat with another side comment.
She just glared at her friend.
"Oh, so nasaan na? Nililigawan mo pa rin ba si Bea?"
Her eyes immediately went back to the television when she heard the question.
"Ah, no no no po Tito Boy. We're---"
"You're just friends? Talaga?"
"We've been friends po Tito Boy---"
"I know. For a long time. I know, Thirds. Nagkwentuhan kami ni Bea. So, 'di mo tinuloy?"
"Hindi na po, Tito Boy.."
Her heart constricted when she heard Thirdy's answer. Was it just her imagination or was it because of lights but it seemed like there were mists in Thirdy's eyes?
"Hala, parang maiiyak si Thirdy." Pat has just voiced out her thoughts, but she didn't mind her. She just focused her eyes on the television. She couldn't let her friend see the tears that were starting to well in her eyes.
"Parang may lungkot."
"Hindi. Wala, wala. Ganoon talaga Tito Boy, eh. You win some, you lose some."
When Bea heard those words, that was when she knew that it was really over.
Iyon naman ang gusto niya, 'di ba? Kaya nga niya tinanggihan si Thirdy. She should be happy. Pero lolokohin lang niya ang sarili niya kung sasabihin niyang masaya siya.
Bea bit her lip. Then took a deep breath and turned off the tv.
"Want to share something, friend?" Pat asked carefully. Her voice was now serious, gone was the teasing tone she heard a while ago. Bea didn't know that her friend was observing her actions.
