Olivia didn't take her eyes off of Ted the entire movie. She had noticed he was acting very strange now. It seemed like he had a good reason though. He had just gotten a giant info dump in a manner of minutes regarding his family and his connection to Foghorn. Maybe going out wasn't such a good idea. He wasn't sad or anything. He was just really out of it.
"Hey let's go watch this movie! Doesn't it look cool?"
"That's a movie about unicorns dear."
"Let's go eat here!"
"That's a bar. We can't go in there."
"Let's go look at the animals!"
"That's a stray dog and I'm pretty sure it has rabies."
Really out of it. She had to keep him focused or his mind would switch to something else. They ended up watch a drama movie but Ted kept cheering on the characters and booing the "bad guys". Luckily no one else was in there so they didn't get in trouble. On the way back Ted kept jumping on rails and slapping signs.
"Oh! Comic book store!" He shouted as he ran full sprint towards the building. He smacked into the door and fell over before hopping back up like nothing happened. "Guess it's closed!" He said with a goofy grin.
He then skipped along. Olivia felt more like she was babysitting than dating. She finally grabbed his arm and lead him away from the stores and towards the backstreets. "Let's just get you home. You seem like you need to rest." She said. "Nah! I want to spend time with you! My absolutely adorable girlfriend! Why would I want to go home now?!" He argued. Olivia found it pointless to fight back so she just sent out a text. "Alright then. Why don't we go get something to eat then. I know a place."
------------
Ted and Olivia entered Gi' mees which surprised Ted. This place was somewhere he and Ketter would go to with Oscar and Jose when they were younger. It was a diner tucked away in the middle of Praise about 15 minutes away from the school. "There they are!" And Pip is here. Why was Pip here? Why was everyone here? The entire crew was sitting at a large table earning Olivia a look of confusion. She just looked away and whistled like nothing was going on. "Olivia, what the hell are they doing here?" He asked. Pip threw an arm around his shoulder and dragged him to the table. "Dearest Olivia texted our glorious group chat and told us all to come here because you were in a situation that required friends!" He explained.
Ted took a seat the head of the table while everyone stared at him. HD looked back at all of them but shrugged. "I'm fine." He said. Yeah no one believe that. Olivia seemed the most concerned. She was there when everything happened. Ted looked around the table and saw the face looking back at him. All of his friends. Every single one of them.
Jim, his rival turned friend. The older boy always had hid back in any fight he needs help. He always motivated Ted by simply being there and sharing his spirit.
Lilith, his chaos witch. The girl who could both scare and love him at the drop of a hat. One person he can count on to always offer aid even when he doesn't need it. Also the only one who could rival him in chemistry.
Steph, his bff, best female friend. A kind girl with a weak but big heart. She never let her troubles get her down and she never allowed Ted to get too far in his mind.
Cid, his adviser. The one who pushed him to fight the Demons and gave him hope when hope was gone. His little English buddy.
Ned, the silent fighter. Though he didn't know much about him he had proven time and time again that he was a friend and that he wasn't going anywhere.
Eve, the jesus loving girl. Though he wanted nothing to do with her, he found her company enjoyable. She cared greatly for him and took care of him in the little things she did.
Pip, his best friend. The one who always brighten his day even when Ted acted annoyed. He was always ready to fight for his friend and defend the others without a second thought.
And finally Olivia, his cute girlfriend. The one who started it all. The one who pushed him to a position to protect his friends and the one who reignited the flame.
These were his friends. Some he didn't know that long and some who he felt he'd known for a lifetime. All of them, were family. All of them were here now. None of the knew the situation, they just knew that their friend was in a state of distress and they were there. Something wet fell from his cheek causing everyone to look at him in surprise. Ted was still smiling but tears were rolling down his cheeks.
"I'm, not fine. I'm not ok at all." His voice cracked. "I'm far from it." He had to catch a sob in his throat. "I'm so tired. Sebastian Foghorn is my uncle and I have a sister I never even met before! The one person who raised me kept it from me for years! And now the only time I can even feel anything besides bitterness and anger at world is when I'm fighting against it!" He confessed.
Olivia placed a hand on his fist to calm him down while everyone else listened. Pip finally stood up and walked over to him to place a hand on his shoulder. "You don't need to be scared." Ted looked up to his friend. "We're all here for you Ted. Each and every one of us. If you have family you didn't know about or family you can trust then that's fine. You have us. We can be your family. Always." He said.
Ted couldn't control the tears anymore. They began to flow freely as everyone stood up and surrounded their friend.
"We got you." Jim said.
"We're here always." Ned said.
"We ain't going anywhere buddy." Cid said.
"You don't have to be afraid baby." Lilith said.
"I'll support you 110%!" Steph said.
"Even when I can't help I will pray." Eve said.
Finally Olivia pulled him for a hug. "You'll always have us." She whispered in his ear. Ted just smiled through the tears. He didn't feel so alone. This was, nice.
--------
Ted examined his arm Monday on the way to school. It had fully healed thanks to the Foghorn Medicine which he had fondly named Montly Med. His uniform was also fully restored thanks to the school. Today was his first day as a Council member but he didn't plan on attending any meetings. He was on a war path and he couldn't afford to slow down.Today was also the day he and Olivia were going to tell their friends they were a thing.
Stressful day. Truly.
Ted entered the gate and rushed to homeroom where he met with Eve. "Today is the day." She said as he passed by. Ted took his seat and opened up a book. All eyes were now on him ever since Friday's fight. Ted just smirked behind the pages. Class ended and Ted walked through the halls passing by Pip. "Today is the day." He said as they passed each other. Chemistry came and went before Computer class started. "Today is the day." Steph smiled looking at her screen. Ted stretched as he passed by Jim in the hall. "Today is the day." Lunch started but no one went to the roof. Ted instead headed to the library where he found Ned. "Today is the day." He whispered not looking up. It was time for English where Cid slid him a note. "Today is the the day" it read. P.E. came and Ted leaned against the wall with Lilith as always. "Today is the day." She sighed. Ted nodded. It was finally the last hour where he spent it in silence. After school Ted walked up the third floor and and stood in front of the large wooden doors with his hands in his pockets. Everyone slowly began to gather around him before the entire team was there. Olivia held his hand and gave him a kiss on the cheek which earned the two a few confused looks. "Today is the day." She said. Ted smiled back at her before planted a kiss on her lips shocking everyone. "Today is the day." He said now determined.
He took a deep breath and looked to his friends. His family. "Everyone knows their roles. Let's do this." He said with a wicked grin. The flame already glowing in his eyes. Everyone nodded as Ted turned back towards the doors. He slid on his gloves as he stepped forward.
"Down with the King." He snarled.
He opened the doors with a kick.
