Friday was here. Thank whoever is looking down upon us. Ted rolled out of bed only to land on a smaller mattress while Pip poked his head in. "Pompadour." He yawned before disappearing back into the hallway. Ted heard a muffled exchange of good mornings behind his door from Jose. Ted sat up and got ready by throwing on the uniform's trousers and let out a yawn. His wounds were getting better to the point of not having bandages anymore. Dr. Feel Good gave him some kind of medicine that has been helping with his injuries by speeding up his recovery. How? Hell if he knew. He was a freshman in high school who barely paid attention.

He threw on the white button up and scratched his lower back as he looked around for the navy blue blazer. He finally found it in the corner of his desk and threw it on. He noticed something on his shoulder and pulled off a long strain of red hair. Eve's? Maybe. He quickly did his hair the best he could before heading downstairs to see Jose and Pip talking about their homework while Oscar was trying to finish last night's assignment. Ketter was at the table reading the newspaper with a freshly made cup of coffee. It was a rare day off for him so he was planning on doing nothing besides stay in and drink.

Ted sat at the table where Pip slid a plate towards him with a fried egg and two pieces of bacon. Ted just dropped his head onto it with a groan. The walk to school was longer than usual but no one bothered to start a conversation. Ted was spacing out when he felt an arm wrap around his neck. Jim grinned as he began to rub his fist against Ted's head. He was finally pushed off, still smiling, as Ted quickly fixed his hair.

"Hey kid. Hey guys. Ice Queen." He greeted, only breaking the smile when he got to Jose. Everyone, minus Jose, greeted him and continued to walk to school. "So, what's going on with you and Scaleless? The two of you seem to be getting close." Jim asked out of the blue. Ted found himself tripping in surprise before regaining his composure. Everyone was now looking at him with some form of interest. Pip seemed to be more excited than anything while Oscar seemed worried. He really did hope his younger brother would open his eyes and see the feelings that the younger chaos sister had. Jim, on the other hand, was really rooting for Eve.

"Well, we're just friends. That's all there is to it." Ted explained. He turned back to his friends only to see...

GLARE!!!

Everyone was now looking with him with, what Ted could only describe as, cat eyes. He also noticed two new sets of eyes as well. Lilith and Cid were suddenly in the conversation. Steph soon walked up to the group as well, unaware of what was going on. "Morning guys! What's going on?" Everyone finally let up and went back to their journey to school. Ted rolled his eyes and shoved his hands into his pockets, unaware that Steph was reaching out for them.

"Is it just me or is class getting longer?" Ted groaned as he laid his head onto his desk. Mr. Scaleless threw a pile of graded papers at the boy's head causing him to jerk slightly. He handed Eve's her own papers and rolled away. Eve looked at her partner/friend and placed a hand on his head...His hair was really soft! She began to play with it which caused Ted to tense up greatly with a low pitched sound that caught Eve off guard. She pulled her hand away as Ted sat up suddenly and cleared his throat. "Sorry." He said while looking away.

Eve found herself reaching for his hair again but quickly turned away when he returned to normal. "So, any word on the SDC? They on to us yet?" He asked now back to normal. Eve shook her head. Jim had asked her to look into it since she was close to one of the freshmen on the committee but unfortunately, they were keeping their lips shut. Ted was about to complain when he felt something hit the back of his head. He turned around to see Daniel and Luke glaring at him. He rolled his eyes and reached down for the piece of paper that they threw at him. He opened it up to find a threatening note about leaving Eve alone and blahblahblah. Who cares? He had gotten used to Eve's admirers over the last few weeks since they were always around each other. Eve had taken to joining him, Olivia, Pip, and Jim on the roof where the others would often join here or there.

Eve looked back as well but the boys went back to their work. Eve turned back to Ted before she continued her work. She would never tell him but, she was thankful for him. He had went out of his way, even after she had clearly annoyed him, and befriended her. Ironic since she was the one who declared that she would befriend the hell out of him. He even went as far as to introduce her to his friends and Olivia. She was never one to really have friends growing up thanks to her father's position and people more or less admiring her rather than actually trying to get to know her. She was glad to finally have friends who she could actually spend time with and talk to. Plus she now had two little sister figures with Olivia and Steph. She smiled at the thought.

It wasn't hard to realize that in some way, she admired Ted. He knew what he was getting into and instead of backing down, he chose to fight. Even after Leon's ambush which would've scared anyone away, he stayed back and stood his ground. He was brave. Stupid, but brave. She also respected his protectiveness over his friends and family. He had rushed into the fight against Hammer Fatty without a second thought and saved his brother. The fact that he injured himself to do so is what frightened her. She had seen something in his eyes. Something that was always there when he would fight or talk about his victories. A flame. A fire that fueled him. She knew that he didn't care much for school or even any kind of future but when he had that fire, he was alive. He was happy.

Lunch was now here. Pip and Jim watched from their places, Jim was against the wall while Pip was sitting in the sun along with his lunch, as the three freshman interacted. Ted was trying to avoid Eve from touching his hair while giving Olivia his lunch much to her protest. Jim, while tired and frustrated, was amused by the scene before him. It was nice to get away from the fighting and just enjoy life as a group of high school students.

"YO! IS THAT TED BITCH UP IN HERE?!"

And there it goes. Everyone looked over at the door to see a very skinny blonde haired boy slouching over with his hands in his pockets. He just screamed "wannabe gangster" which made everyone cringe internally. He scanned the roof before settling on Ted. He marched his way towards the group causing everyone to sigh. Eve and Ted recognized him. Redmond. Mr. Stone's son and Whitette's twin.

"What do you want Redmond?" Ted asked annoyed as he stood up. Redmond kept getting closer until he was in Ted's face. "You messing with my sister? You trying to get some and you think she's easy?" He accused. Olivia and Eve both grew red while Jim fought back a laugh and Pip just sat there with his mouth open in shock. Ted seemed taken back but shook his head.

"Why would I? She's not even my type." He groaned. Redmond looked over to Eve and Olivia making them cover themselves feeling like he was undressing them with his eyes. "I can tell. You like them flat." Redmond shook his head. He was greeted by a science textbook to the head causing him to fall over in pain. He quickly shot up and glared at Eve. "Hey!" Redmond snapped his head back to Ted who grabbed his collar and pulled him close.

"If you're here for me, leave them out of it. I might just kick your ass for that alone." Ted threatened. Redmond gulped but quickly brought back his gangster facade. He pulled away and walked away to the door. "This is a warning! Stay away from my sister you asshat!" He said flipping Ted the bird and leaving. Ted rolled his eyes and went to give Eve her book back. When he bent down, Eve took the chance to pull him down to the ground and quickly trapped him by getting on top of him. "HA! Thank you kickboxing classes!" She cheered while Ted was trying to look away from her skirt that, was...riding....up....yellow?

Eve suddenly leaned down and began to run her fingers through his hair. Ted let out the same noise as before. Everyone was stunned by Eve's aggressive nature with Jim getting a pink spread across his cheeks. Olivia felt that sting once more but stood up and rushed over to the two and began to play with Ted's hair as well. Ted began to kick as both Jim and Pip joined in on the torture.
