I walk among the darkness, looking around confused yet ... calm. "Where ... am I?" I question to myself as I walked through the pitch black void. I then felt a presence behind me, I turn around seeing something like a dragon's skull, standing next to it was a personification of the American flag wearing black sunglasses over his eyes.
"Be prepared." He said with a smirk.
I shoot up from my bed, looking around to see I was in my room. These type of dreams have been constant, each time becoming more and more vivid as time goes on. It's like it has been on a timer, slowly counting down.
"(Y/N)! Breakfast is ready!" I hear Evie call out.
I snap myself out of my daze, getting out of bed quickly, changing into my usual outfit since I forgot to buy my own clothes, then ran downstairs. I walk into the kitchen, seeing everyone was already awake and eating breakfast.
"Morning!" Evie and Jacob welcomed with a smile.
"Morning." I returned the gesture, while picking up a plate with a pancake and some bacon on the side. "Did Jacob fix this?" I ask, while sitting down, hesitating to eat it.
Evie laughed, "No he didn't. If he did it would have been black and the bacon would've been ash."
"Hey!" Jacob protested with his mouth full of food.
"It was Connor, he fixed it." Evie said, gesturing to the Native American next to me.
I turn to him, giving him a soft smile, "This looks delicious, thank you Connor."
Connor returned it saying, "You are welcome."
I reached out for the syrup, only for it to be snatched away by Haytham. "Father (Y/N) was about to use it." Connor spoke with a hint of growl in his voice.
"Hm? Well then she should've gotten it shouldn't she." Haytham said, his eyes narrowing into a glare.
Connor was about to say something, but I put a hand on his arm saying, "Don't worry about it. I'll wait my turn." I took a piece of bacon, biting off a piece of it, humming in delight as the flavors reached my tongue. "This is delicious." I say with a hum in delight.
I know their game, they are trying to push my buttons, trying to see what would happen if I snap. If I show my "true colors" is how they would put it. I would've done so myself, so I have no hard feelings towards them but ... this is getting childish.
It's been a month, maybe more, since they got here. The only people who trust me in this house is Jacob, Henry, Evie, Connor, and Ezio who took a little bit longer than Connor. Everyone else is still looking for me to trip and fall, good thing I'm an assassin then. But ... even assassins fall sometimes and I can feel myself beginning to slip. I don't know how much more of this I can take.
It's hard, seeing the people you love and cared for treat you like some criminal. I look down at my ring, even my own husband ... if I even have the right to call him that after what happened.
"Here." Connor said, handing me the syrup.
I smile up at him, "Thanks Conn-" I freeze as my surroundings went dark, standing in Connor's spot was a skeleton with a wide grin and a sing glowing blue and yellow eye. He wore a blue jacket with a white T-shirt underneath and black gym short with a white stripe on the sides of them, he even wore pink slippers. He raised his hand, summoning bones out of thin air, before pointing his hand at me sending the bones straight into my chest.
I jumped, seeing my self back at the dining table. The bottle of syrup now on the floor, I looked down at my chest to see nothing but my black tank top and charcoal grey jacket. "(Y/N) are you alright?" Jacob asked, looking at me with worry.
