~Arora's POV~

"I can't believe he did that," I said to myself as I walked into the cafeteria.

Danny left me, standing there like an idiot because he forgot that we were supposed to walk to lunch together. That asshole.

As soon as I walk into the cafeteria, I search for the familiar mop of blonde hair. Once I found it I walk towards him, an angry look taking over my face.

"You were supposed to meet me in the lobby," I said angrily.

You probably think that I'm overreacting, right?

Well, I'm not. This is the fifth time he did it to me.

He put his hands up in mock surrender, "Calm down best friend I was just showing our new friend here around," He said, which confused me.

Wait? What? New friend? What the fu-

Oh yeah, the new kid.

I had completely forgotten that Danny had invited him to sit with us today.

I immediately turn on my heel to see an unfamiliar looking face. "How rude of me, I'm Arora. You must be Xander," I said and put my hand out for him to shake.

This kid "Xander" does not look like he belongs in high school. He's taller than me sitting down. He has black hair and the most striking gray eyes. And his smooth tan complexion compliments his muscled body perfectly. I'll admit it this kid is hot!

He smiled slightly at the sound of his name and shook my hand. Weird sparks running up my arm as he did so. But I quickly brushed them off.

I turned to Danny. "If you ever forget about me again, I won't hesitate to castrate you with a purple crayon," I told him.

Xander laughed while everyone else broke out into "oh's."

When everybody calmed down a normal conversation fell over the table.

I looked over at Kyle, "Kyle, let me see your phone." I said

Kyle handed me the sleek green smartphone.

"Is the password still the same?" I asked which was a stupid question. He wouldn't change it on me.

"Yeah, but you really need to get a phone." He said.

The truth is getting a phone would require asking my stepfather for something, and I don't like asking him for things. But nobody needed to know that.

"Why would I get a phone when I can use yours. Besides I have an iPod." I said sliding it out of my back pocket and putting it on the table. I bought that when I actually had a job. That was before my sister got sick.

I take Kyle's phone and quickly dial my mom's number. Putting it up to my ear till I hear the click of her answering. "Hey," I said.

"Hey, are you using Kyle's phone again?" She asked.

"Yes, I'm using his phone again," I said sounding annoyed.

"Do you have practice today?" She questioned.

"No, it got canceled."

"Well can you ask Danny if you can spend the week at his house. Ray and I are going on a business trip to New Jersey." Ray is my stepfather.

"Yes, I'll ask him," I said, so typical of her to leave me.

"Thanks."

"He's gonna say yes, anyways," I said letting my irritation slip.
