Chapter Six: 162 Candles

*~*~*~*

A large smile filled Brigs lips as she rolled back into Mystic Falls just short of two weeks after she had departed the small town for the more vibrant culture of New Orleans. Though she had enjoyed her time in the Quarter, she was more than ready to get back to her life in Mystic Falls, having no doubt there was a new reign of chaos awaiting her after receiving a text from Garrett that Damon had apparently been able to avoid being locked in a tomb to starve for the next five decades.

She made a beeline for her apartment, managing to find an empty parking spot near the entrance before the made the climb up to her floor. However, her smile managed to be wiped off her face when she entered her apartment to find Jenna and Garrett asleep on her couch-- stark naked.

"Oh, my God!" She screamed, quickly dropping her duffle bag to cover her eyes. At the sound of her shriek the newly formed couple snapped awake, both of them shocked by the Turner woman's arrival.

"Brigs!" Jenna's face heated up in embarrassment as Garrett grabbed the throw blanket off the floor to cover both of them up. "I didn't think you'd be back for a few more days."

"Right, this is my fault." Brigs shuddered as she turned her back to the couple, allowing them to scramble around the living room for the clothes they'd discarded the night before. "I'm going to have to burn that couch now. You two do realize that Jenna has her own room at her house?"

"We thought we'd have more privacy here," Garrett pointed out as he pulled on his boxers and tee shirt while Jenna managed to put on her dress from the night before, unsure of where her underwear and bra had ended up.

"Well, I guess I should thank you for not using my bed. Though couldn't you have left a tie on the door or something?" Brigs suggested as she faced them once more, happy to find them clothed this time. "Don't make me take away your keys. And to think I brought you back gifts from my trip."

"A trip that I want to hear all the dirty details about, later. I've gotta run back to the house and pick up Elena and Jeremy. We're supposed to be at the police station in an hour," Jenna offered both of them an apologetic smile. "Liz wants to talk to them about Vicki."

"Wait, what's going on with Vicki?" Brigs frowned at the mention of the Donovan woman. "Is everything okay?"

"She skipped town," Jenna informed her. As she did so she turned to grab her purse off the floor, missing the sharp look Brigs sent Garrett at the new information. "No one has any clue where she went. I guess Liz is hoping she might be able to figure out something by talking to the kids."

"Well let me know if there's anything I can do," Brigs offered. "I'll come by the house later, give you all your gifts."

"Sounds like fun," Jenna agreed before pressing a quick kiss to Garrett's cheek. "See you guys later."

"See you later," Garrett smiled after the woman as he watched her disappear out the door, almost looking like a lovesick puppy.

"Nice to see you two are taking things slow," Brigs chuckled, her words full of sarcasm.

"She's an amazing woman," Garrett sighed as he took a seat on the couch, leaving Brigs to claim the arm chair-- having no intention of ever sitting on the couch again.

"Well hopefully you can pull yourself out of the clouds long enough to tell me what I've missed." She raised a thin brow at the man as she leaned back in her seat. "I'm gone for twelve days and I come back to find out Vicki is missing and Damon is out roaming the streets again. Wonderful job keeping me informed. So, where is Vicki really?"
