It was almost 9pm and filling out so much paper work was exhausting. Kai'Lan was ready to go home, this was not how she expected her first day to go.

Kai'Lan picked up the Manila folder with all the finished paper work and got into the elevator.

When the elevator opened Kai'Lan cake face to face with Hunter and his fiancée kissing while leaning on his glass windows

Kai'Lan was about to turn around and walk back into the elevator but she decided against it, she then cleared her throat to get their attention, Hunter looked up and saw her standing there impatiently

Hunter moved away from his fiancée who seemed like she desperately wanted to eat his face.

Hunter: haven't you ever heard of knocking ?
Kai'Lan: with all due respect this elevator leads right to your office, you don't have a door to knock on...sir

Kai'Lan was already annoyed and with the way hunter had been treating her the whole did with his rude remarks she did not want to hear anything from him

Hunter: I suppose your right
Claudette: oh aren't you the woman from the restaurant...lovely...I didn't know you already started working here
Kai'Lan : um yea today was my first day
Claudette: that's nice to hear. How'd your first day go ?
Kai'Lan: could've been better, your fiancé which is my boss can be a little demanding and unapologetically rude but other than that fine I guess.
Hunter: you could've brought my coffee on time
Claudette: hunter calm down you have to be nicer, she's going to be working with you for a while the least you can do is show respect
Hunter: I'm sorry babe ( he kisses Claudette's cheek)

It actually surprised Kai'Lan to see hunter show affection to Claudette, she didn't think it was possible for him to apologize and she had only known him for a day

Claudette: I'm really not the one you should be apologizing to but anyways , how may I help you Ms.....
Kai'Lan: Kai'Lan Hayes, I came to bring all the paperwork I filled out and I'm ready to go and clock out
Claudette: your last name sounds a lot like Gray
Kai'Lan: um yea I guess
Hunter: you two can stop chit chatting now, here hand that paperwork to me you can go ahead and clock out. Goodbye
Kai'Lan: ok thank you

Kai'Lan turnt around and made her way back she didn't even get to get in the elevator before Claudette returned to devouring hunters face.
Kai pressed the elevator button to go back down to the first floor trying to avoid looking at the kissing couple but she could help but realize Hunter was staring at him while his fiancée kissed his face.

Before things got even more awkward the elevator door thankfully closed.

Kai'Lans home

Kai was exhausted when she walked into her apartment she turned the lights on, kicked of her shoes and went straight to the kitchen for a glass of wine.

She stood there drinking while staring at the blank wall in front of her, replaying the look hunter gave her as she left his office over and over in her head

Her phone dinged removing her from her daze, when she looked down it was a text message from an unknown number.

She opened the message

" Oh would you look at that, it's the cute boy from the mall"  Kai'Lan said to herself, instead of replying to his question she decided to play with him a little

Kai chuckled to herself waiting for his response, surprisingly he texted back fast
"Oh wow.. sorry wrong number I guess" . Kai'Lan instantly felt bad and replied

Kai'Lan waited for a response For some reason she really wanted to talk to him

Kai'Lan put her phone down , processing what just happend. She just scored a date with the cute guy at the mall, she did a little happy shimmy dance and ran to her room to call Jada, she wasn't even tired anymore.
