kai walked into the huge mansion cautiously, trying to maintain her composure. The mansion was huge, people stood around drinking champagne and talking as slow music played in the background.

"What in the hell, this is a whole scene from a movie" she muttered to herself.

Not knowing where to go she froze until she saw Nina standing by one of the indoor fountains.

Kai started walking over to nina before she was cut off by a man in a navy blue suit.

" hello sweetheart, who are you here with" the man asked looking her up and down

" i work at Hunters company and I was invited" she said with an uncomfortable grin

"Hunter ? None of his employees call him that. You boning him or something ?" He said furrowing his eyebrows

"No....I'm just his assistant thank you very much " Kai said giving him a stank face

" I thought so, my brother could never get with a pretty girl like you" the man said smiling like an idiot

Hunter has a brother...there were some similarities in his feature to hunters but she would've never thought 

Oh you're related to hunter, no wonder why you're so headstrong, runs in the family huh" kai said

"After good looks, definitely, anyways My name is  Jackson, and yours is ? " he smirked

"Kai'Lan, now excuse me Jackson I gotta go" kai said moving to leave

"I'll be here if you wanna get to know me" Jackson called out to her while she walked away

"Great Nina isn't even here anymore, now what do I do" Kai said while rolling her eyes

She stood next to the water fountain where Nina was originally at and opened her phone to text hunter. while In the middle of a text, she felt a shoulder tap

She turned around ready to tell Jackson to leave her alone "What !?" She said before realizing it was hunter

"Damn why so angry, you just got here Kai'Lan" he said with his hands up

"Your brother was annoying me and I thought you were him" she said looking around

"You've met the jackass,  I don't blame you for reacting the way you did. Anyways you're not here to just stand around, every employee is here to pitch business plans to the guests here" Hunter said putting his hands into his suit pockets

"I knew there was a catch to being here" Kai'Lan said looking back at him

"You don't know much about any business plans anyways  so what I want you to do is to make everyone feel welcomed and if I text you that means to come to me as fast as you can" he said looking at her

"Um well ok then" she said before smoothing her dress out and walking away leaving hunter to watch her leave

Hours had passed by and kai was annoyed out of her mind. If another old man tried to flirt with her again she'd scream

She'd rather be anywhere but this mansion at this point and that said something. The date she had with Zay a few days ago was amazing and she'd do anything to be there again.

Not knowing what to do next she texted hunter "can you text me already, the men here are disgusting"

After a couple of minutes of standing at the food bar, hunter texted back

" sorry about that, come up to the 3rd floor, 2nd door on the right, I'm working on something so you can help me" he replied

Finally getting a chance to get away kai left to go upstairs as fast as she could

Kai finally made it to the 3rd floor and she wanted to slide down the wall dramatically

"Why...is.there...soooo..many steps" she muttered to herself out of breath. She walked over to the 2nd door on the right like Hunter had told her to but instead of going inside she stood outside the door trying to catch her breath.

While standing outside she could hear Hunter arguing over the phone

"What do you mean you can't get it ?!" He practically screamed into the telephone

Kai didn't want to intrude and listen into his conversation but she was already there and curious so why not

"I don't want to go through with this and you better fix it ! Do what I told you to do I don't care who's upset, get the damn job done" he yelled and then there was silence

"Did he hang up ?" Kai thought you herself

She decided to stop listening and knocked on the door.

"Come in" she heard from the other side

He was in a chair behind a desk slouching

"Why so upset buddy boy" kai asked closing the door behind her

"I think sometimes you forgot I'm your boss" he said furrowing his brows

"You keep forgetting I know that already" she said while taking off her heels and taking and leaving them by the door

"Why are you taking off your shoes nasty" he said looking at her every move

"The floor is clean and my feet hurt duh" she said rolling her eyes

"Stop rolling your eyes, that's a terrible habit"
He said to her mean mugging her

"I'm fine with my "terrible habit" thank you" she said smiling innocently

"Anyways I need your help with identifying something" he said motioning for her to come stand beside him

Kai did as he said and went to stand beside him in his chair.

"Bend down so you can see" he said motioning her until she bent down

By now kai could feel hunters breath close to her cheek and it was making her squirm

"Ok look, so in this video you see this folder being put away, there's a passcode right on the folder, it says ZXUN86, there's one more letter after it but I can't figure it out. I heard you're a detective so I need you to see if you can clarify the video" he said looking at her

"Um..I-I can do that" Kai said awkwardly

Hunter moved the computer closer to her and let her get to work

While Kai tried to clarify the video hunter was watching her closely, every key she typed he was there to follow, after a while he wasn't paying attention to the computer but more so her face

After almost a minute kai was able to clarify the video

"I did it, the letter is K" Kai said moving the computer back closer to him

"Thanks" hunter said snapping out of his trance

"Is that all" Kai'Lan said looking back at him

"Yea you can chill for now since you don't wanna be downstairs" hunter said pointing her to a seat

Kai'Lan nodded and began to walk over to the seat but before she could make it she tripped on a computer wire and fell hitting her head on the desk
The last thing she remembered hearing was "Kai'Lan what the hell"
