Kai added the berries to the blender and pressed the button, while she waited on her smoothie she stared at the wall in front of her.

Her phone dinged breaking her from her thoughts,

Kai: shoot I gotta hurry up she said swiping off her reminder

She quickly transferred the smoothie to a portable cup and placed the blender parts in the dishwasher.

She grabbed her phone and purse and left , while walking down the apartment steps she saw her neighbor Karen walking her dog.

Kai didn't want anything to do with that lady, anytime she saw someone doing something she didn't like no matter how minor it was, Karen was first to state her opinion and demands.

Kai quickly walked over to her car but was stopped when Karen called out her name.

Karen: ohhh Kayla
Kai'Lan: hello Karen it's Kai'Lan not Kayla
Karen: yesterday I was sitting on my balcony when I was disturbed by your loud car radio.
Kai'Lan: Karen it wasn't loud it only seemed that way because I put my window down to fix my mirrors
Karen: either way you can't just come here blasting your....RAP music
Kai'Lan: it wasn't rap Karen it was R&B  there's a difference between them
Karen: Well I don't care stop playing your radio
Kai'Lan: I'll do that when you start paying my car insurance , no one else but you complains. Excuse me but I have to be at work
Karen: well I-

Kai'Lan got into her car and closed the door, starting the car before Karen could continue to complain.

Kai'Lan turned on her radio playing r&b music and put on her seatbelt.

"I really need to stop paying attention to her" . Kai'Lan said to herself while backing out of the parking lot.

20 minutes later

Kai'Lan got out of her car and went inside the little coffee shop where she got Hunters morning coffee.

Kai'Lan stood in the short line , tapping her phone on her thigh as she waited for her order to be fulfilled

While Kai was waiting someone tapped her on the shoulder, when she turned around she saw Zay

Kai'Lan : oh hi
Zay: hey how are you
Kai'Lan: I'm fine, didn't expect to see you here
Zay: I didn't expect to be here either
Kai'Lan: what does that even mean ?
Zay: my sister forced me to come buy her a coffee and she won't drink it unless it's from here so here I am
Kai'Lan: oh that's sweet
Zay: so do you come here often ?
Kai'Lan: against my will...yes, I have to pick up a coffee for my boss every morning
Zay: well maybe I'll be coming here often then

Cashier: coffee for Hunter
Kai'Lan : that's me thank you

Kai'Lan waved goodbye at Zay and made her way out of the coffee shop until Zay ran up to her

Kai'Lan: oh !
Zay: were still on for this weekend right ?
Kai'Lan : ummm...definitely

Zay smiled and Kai'Lan finally left

At the office

Kai'Lan walked into the office building and went straight to the elevator. Kai'Lan was already in a rush, she didn't want to be late to give Hunter his coffee again.

After a few seconds she was on Hunters floor, when the elevator bell dinged she quickly exited the elevator only to bump into Hunter knocking all of the coffee on both of them.
