Chapter 10

It was a normal day at the base. Ethan was waiting for his shipgirls to return from their mission. Since Enterprise was participating in the mission, Ethan had Yorktown to help him out in the office.

In Ethan's office...

Ethan: "Hah... Why are there so many documents?"

Yorktown: "Well, it's because most of these are the ones you requested. You said that you were helping the police to find the culprit."

Ethan: "Oh yeah, I forgot... Hehe." he said while scratching the back of his head.

Yorktown: "Honestly commander. You can be so forgetful sometimes. It's a good thing you have Enterprise to help you out with these." she said as she placed another pile of documents on his desk.

Ethan: "Yeah..." he said as he thought of Enterprise.

Yorktown: "Speaking of which, when will she be back?"

Ethan: "About an hour until she returns to base."

Yorktown slowly nodded. The two then continued their work.

Somewhere at sea...

Enterprise and her fleet were on their way back to base when they encountered a siren fleet.

Cleveland: "Look, it's a siren fleet!"

Eugen: "Should we engage?"

Enterprise: "I don't think they spotted us yet. Maybe we can-"

Hornet: "Incoming!"

A barrage of artillery was shot from the siren fleet and landed near them creating pillars of water.

Enterprise: "I guess there's no other way. Everyone, prepare yourselves for battle!"

The two fleets then started the battle. Enterprise's fleet made quick work of the siren fleet and with Enterprise finishing it off with her signature "Owari da" the battle ceased. The fleet decided to look for anything of use in the wreckage when they stumbled upon a black tech box.

Enterprise: "What's this?" she said as she reached out for it.

Suddenly, the tech box opened, revealing a black wisdom cube.

Enterprise: "What on Earth?"

She then touched the black wisdom cube. Suddenly, her surrounding area turned black.

Enterprise: "What the-"

Suddenly, she heard footsteps heading her way. She looked at the direction of where it was coming from and saw a dark silhouette of a woman.

Enterprise: "Who are you?" she asked the dark figure.

The dark figure didn't say anything. Then it pointed her finger at Enterprise. Suddenly, the dark figure turned into a shroud and started to wrap around Enterprise.

Enterprise: "Hey! What are you-"

The shroud covered her mouth, making her unable to talk. As the shroud wrapped around Enterprise, her strength was rapidly disappearing.

I'm losing consciousness quickly. If I don't do something soon, I'll- All of a sudden, the shroud began to disappear and her surroundings were returning to normal. Enterprised then dropped the wisdom cube and felt a tremendous headache.

Enterprise: "Ah, my head hurts..."

She then heard Cleveland calling out to her.

Cleveland: "Hey Enterprise, are you alright?"

Enterprise: "Yeah. Just a headache."

Hornet: "What happened?"

Enterprise: "I saw this black tech box and I decided to open it. Then I saw a black wisdom cube. When I touched it, everything around me went dark and soon I felt my headache."

Hornet: "I see. Well, let's take this thing back to base to have it analyzed." she said as she pointed to the black wisdom cube. The group then went back to base.

When they arrived, they were greeted by Ethan.

Ethan: "Welcome back girls."

Hornet: "Hey commander. We have some important information we'd like to give."

Ethan: "I see. Well, report to my office when you can."

Hornet: "Yes sir."

Ethan than noticed that Enterprise wasn't feeling too good.

Ethan: "Hey Enterprise, are you alright?"

Enterprise: "Yeah, I'm fine."

Ethan: "OK then. If you feel a little tired, you can rest for a while."

Enterprise: "I'm fine, reall-"

Enterprise then fell on her knees.

Ethan: "Enterprise! I think you should rest."

Enterprise: "Yeah, I guess your right."

Ethan: "Okay. Hornet, can you bring Enterprise to her room?"

Hornet: "Sure thing."

The two then went to the dorms.

Ethan: "Cleveland, what exactly happened out there?"

Cleveland: "Well, we encountered a siren fleet on our way back here. It was just a few destroyers and a supply ship so we finished it quickly."

Ethan: "I see. Well, what happened to Enterprise?"

Cleveland: "After the battle, we decided to search around the wreckage for anything of use. Then Enterprise said she found a black tech box and when she opened it, she saw a black wisdom cube."

Ethan: "A black wisdom cube? Where is it now."

Eugen: "Here commander." she said as she gave the tech box to Ethan.

Ethan: "I see. Good work you two. I'll give this to the lab, see if they can find out what power this thing holds. You two can rest. Dismissed."

The two then left, and Ethan went to the lab.

At the dorms...

Enterprise: "Are you sure the commander will be fine finishing the files alone?"

Hornet: "Cmon sis. Your worrying too much. Do you perhaps like him?"

Enterprise: "Of course not! I'm just getting a bad feeling..."

Suddenly, they heard an explosion coming from outside. They quickly ran outside and saw a huge fire coming from the research building.

Hornet: "Are we under attack?!"

Enterprise: "Look!"

They then saw a bunch of planes in the sky that were dropping bombs on the base.

Enterprise: "Hornet, you go join the others. I'm gonna look for the commander."

Hornet: "Okay. Be careful."

Enterprise then went to the office to check on the commander. When got there, there was no one inside.

Enterprise: "Where is he? Wait, don't tell me..."

She then quickly ran to the research building. When she got there, she saw Ethan being carried away by a high rank siren. She then pulled out her bow and aimed for the siren but as she was about to pull the string, the building exploded forcing Enterprise to take cover. When the explosion was over, the siren already escaped with Ethan.

Enterprise: "Damn you sirens!"
