Alex's eyes fluttered open. She was on the ground, laying flat facing the ceiling. She tried to sit up, but there was a throbbing pain in her side that made her whimper. Her entire body throbbed and she felt a few tears slip from the corners of her eyes. She forced herself to sit up anyway, despite the constant pain surging through her body.
"Okay. How are we going to do this? Right, I'll just put my arm here...okay, nope. That hurt. Maybe if I lean against this wal-OW. Ow, ow, ow, ow. Not that either. Okay. Let me just put my arm here, okay, okay, its fine. Okay, there we go."
Alex let her tired and aching body sag against the wall behind her as she thought. Jay's punishment shouldn't have hurt that much, she thought. I'm part Meyarin.
Just as she was about to attempt to stand up, the door was pulled open violently. "GODDAMNIT, if she's not up now, then I'm going to-oh my god. Finally, you're awake. You took your time. I've been here a billion times and every single time, you've been asleep. Like dead asleep. Gosh."
Alex laughed. She felt loopy and dizzy. She most certainly didn't feel like herself. She felt giggly and as if she had drank too much dillyberry juice. "You sound like me," Alex giggled.
Jay chuckled. "I heard of your experiences with dillyberry. I thought it would be funny to have a laugh before we get into serious business."
"You're boring," Alex said, wrinkling her nose. "And really creepy, you know?"
Jay raised his eyebrows. "Boring?"
Alex nodded, smiling. "Yeah. Really boooooring," Alex said, dragging the word out. "You know, you have so much stuff. Instead of your fancy stuff, why don't you make a slide out of Myrox that goes through the house. Really. It would be a bit more....uh, fun?"
Jay blinked. "Right."
Alex screamed happily, making Jay jump. "I just had the best idea. IT'S THE BESTEST IDEA OUT OF ALL IDEAS! Do you want to hear it? I know you do, I know you do!"
Jay smiled slightly. "Well, I guess I don't have much of a choice, do I?"
Alex nodded excitedly. "You should make a zip line through the house!"
Jay shook his head in confusion. "I have no idea what a zipper line is."
Alex scrunched her face up. "Ugh. So, basically, it's a-"
Jay shook his head, raising his hand. "It's fine. Obviously you won't budge and tell me information that I need, no matter how much I hurt you. I've come up with something else, but I can only implement it once you're normal again, or it might drive you insane. I need to leave now. I have other things to tend to."
"Wait. I didn't get to explain what a zip line was, though."
"It's fine. And by the way, my weapon hurt you so much because every time it strikes skin, it releases sprays of Hyroa blood." And with that, he slammed the door shut behind himself.

A few hours later, Alex slumped against the wall. Did she seriously just tell a mastermind super villain to install a slide and zip line in his evil lair? She groaned loudly. How embarrassing.
