Alex walked around the apartment. Her legs had been feeling stiff and sore from the lack of moment, since she had pretty much been bed-ridden for the past week, and before that she had been in the corner of the dungeon. She was not used to such little movement, so she walked around the house in hopes of easing some of the stiffness.
Alex finally sat down, stretching her legs out as far as she could. She stared at her toes intensely, getting lost in the whirlwind of thoughts that made up her mind. She got up, emptying her mind of her spiraling thoughts.
Alex stood up upon hearing the front door swing open and she ran to it, assuming it was Kaiden. A huge smile had made its way onto her face, excited to see Kaiden and feel warm again. She had spent most of the day alone, excluding the deep discussion she had with Jordan that morning. After spending so much time alone, all she wanted to do was sit with Kaiden and just be in his company. And seeing him would also ease her constant, nagging anxiety of something happening to him.
She ran around the corridor and took in the figure at the door. Hooded. Hidden. That wasn't Kaiden.
"Well, well, we meet again, dearest Alexandra," the figure said, sneering.
Alex expected to feel a pang of fear and exhaustion.
But that pang never came.
She was ready.
"Hello, Jay," Alex responded, her confidence rising.
She had no warning before he lunged at her, but Alex was prepared. She took one glance at the photo of the six of them on the table near the door; Declan, Kaiden, Jordan, Dix, Bear and herself and felt a surge of confidence pass through her.
She summoned A'enara and thrust it forward. It took her no time at all to tap into her Meyarin senses, and then it took her less than 30 seconds to figure out that Jay was much less skilled than Aven was and was more inexperienced. He had flaws in his parries and his weapon didn't follow the right path when he swiped it. Alex quickly gained control and figured out his weaknesses and his pattern of attacks.
Right when she was about to completely overtake him, the front door burst open again. This time it was Kaiden, along with Jeera and ten other wardens that Alex didn't know. Alex was momentarily distracted, but her focus was quickly brought back to the fight when Jay tried to lunge at her again. She deflected it easily and the rest of the Wardens held him back and tied him up, binding him up using handcuffs that were coated in Hyroa blood.

Alex looked at Kaiden that night, after all the wardens had finished questioning Alex and had taken Jay away. "How did you know that Jay was there?"
Kaiden smiled at her, humming in response.
Alex pushed herself off his chest, looking at him directly in the eye, not satisfied with that response. "What do you mean 'hmm' ? How did you know?"
Kaiden looked at her, studying her unmoving eyes.
"I have my ways," he said, winking.
A/N: So, I do realise I went AWOL for a bit, but I'm back :)
