It was almost weekend again and the girls' planned dinner date was about to take place. More importantly, it was a Thursday night, the night before Joohyun's birthday thus the women planned to have an all weekend celebration for the woman who was turning 28 years old (29 Korean age).
Joy, Wendy and Yeri got early off from their schedules to prepare for the evening, making sure that there were enough edibles and good music before Joohyun arrived home from work. Seulgi too helped the girls seeing that she got a two day leave to prepare her documentation before leaving for New York.
"Seulgi unnie, where should I hide this banner?" Yeri asked holding up birthday banners that they were going to surprise Joohyun with after midnight.
"Uhhh, how about behind the curtains? We can just open the curtains after midnight." Yeri gave a thumbs up and continued with her work.
Seulgi and Wendy was busy preparing the food, while Joy fetched Joohyun's birthday cake from a nearby bakery.
"How much time do we have left Seulgi-yah?" Wendy asked as she finished up cooking Joohyun's favorite, tteokbokki.
"About an hour until unnie comes home." Seulgi was making gimbap along with korean pancakes.
"I can't believe our unnie will be 30 years old soon. She's our big sister and mom at the same time." Wendy said in admiration as Seulgi gave a wide smile.
"She truly is. She still babies me a lot, but I try to do more for her, even though she doesn't expect me to." Seulgi admitted feeling a bit emotional.
"Tsk, you unnies should cry when it's her birthday." Yeri mocked the older woman as she took rice cakes from the cupboard.
"Kim Yerim what else are you supposed to do instead of standing around eating snacks?" Wendy placed a hand on her hip.
"Joohyun unnie is the mom of the group, but I think she should switch roles with you Wani-unnieee." Yeri then disappeared from the kitchen to look for songs to play on her Spotify playlist.
"Aish I swear this girl..." Wendy complained, and just then Joy came back from the bakery with Joohyun's cake and other sweet things.
"I'm baaaack. Phew, it's hot outside ladies. Even though the sun is setting, the humidity is suffocating." placed the cakes inside the fridge and took a bottle of water.
Joohyun arrived home seeing that dinner was cooked and the girls eagerly waited for her to arrive so that they can eat and have a good time.
"Aigoo it's so good to see all my dongsaengs together!" beamed Joohyun before putting her bag down, and taking off her heels.
"Unniiiee we missed you so much! Come come, come and sit down let us spoil you." Joy hugged Joohyun tightly who laughed at the younger girl's attachment attack.
"Wow, did you prepare this all? This must've taken hours to do." Joohyun was surprised at the amounts of food and how beautifully the dinner table was decorated.
"We changed our schedules just for today, because it's unnie's birthday in a few hours, so why not celebrate earlier!" Wendy hugged Joohyun's back as Joohyun gave a big smile.
"Gomawoyo, jinjja gomawo." Joohyun was so grateful to have such kind and endearing friends and hugged each of them before sitting down next to Wendy.
"Okay can we eat now, my stomach is screaming." Yeri pulled her face in a sad manner making Joohyun laugh who then fed her meat wrapped in lettuce.
The girls ate happily and spoke about their lives as the evening progressed. Joy then gathered everyone's attention by saying that she has important news to announce.
