"I don't think that this is the best option" Jon said, making the tension growing in the room even bigger.
He, Sansa, Arya and Daenerys with her advisors were standing in one of the rooms, looking down on the map of the King's Landing and it's surroundings, that was filled with arrows which indicated how their armies will be moving. "The men are still exhausted after the battle. Moving the force like that would take a lot of time and resources, and we only have one shot at it. We have to go prepared" Jon added, earning a nod from Ser Davos and Tyrion. Daenerys however, was acting more and more impatient. Jon could see it in her eyes. He could tell how much she wanted to go already, even if it could cost her an almost guaranteed victory. "How much do you expect us to wait then? Week? Maybe a month? Each day that we spend here is another day for Cersei to prepare for our siege." Dany said, and Jon sighed. She wasn't entirely wrong. Cersei was not foolish, she was well aware of the force she is going to face. "Your Grace, if I may." Varys said, and placed another tile on the map, "My little birds told me, that the Golden Company is already in King's Landing, thanks to Greyjoy fleet. If we want to face the Lannister forces head on, especially when they are supported by the biggest group of the sellswords Essos has to offer, we have to act smart, and restrain ourselves from rushing in." he finished, making everyone else in the room fall silent. These were another two obstacles that they had to face, and it made the entire thing whole lot worse. Golden company was known for their persistance and endurance, and if the stories were true, trying to starve out the city would not work. It was the most basic strategy to win sieges like that. Wait under the gates of the city you wanted to take, and cut off their supplies, just waiting for them to give up. But there was also another thing that made this strategy impossible. Unlucky for them, King's Landing was placed by the sea, so the fleet that was leaded by Euron Greyjoy, could easily sustain the city by bringing them food from wherever they wanted, especially after sinking the great portion of Daenerys' fleet. "And what are our numbers exactly?" Arya asked, joining in on the conversation. "We lost almost all Dothraki that participated in the battle. That charge was suicidal." Tyrion said, "The rest of them are at Dragonstone, also with great portion of the unsullied, or am I wrong?" he finished, looking towards Greyworm, who agreed. "If I would have to give you the numbers, it would be something around 30 thousand. " Tyrion added. "There is 5 thousands of northmen that are skilled in combat. They should be ready soon." Sansa informed them, looking towards Jon who placed the tile on the map. "But.." Sansa said, making everyone's attention switch to her, "As we said before, they have to rest. That battle took a toll on them, and I don't mean our fellow northmen only. It's not everyday for you to face the army of the undead." she finished, getting the cold gaze from Daenerys. The tension between her and Sansa was growing with each day, and winning the war against Night King did not make it go away. "The war ends when we kill Cersei right?" Arya said, breaking Daenerys' and Sansa's deadlock, and everybody turned to her, "So If I would do it, it would solve a lot of time and problem right?" she finished her thought, and Jon looked towards her with big eyes. "You? Alone? You can't possibly mean.." he tried to argue, but she only sent him tired expression. "I don't want to hear it Jon. If I will decide that I want to go and do it, I will. Also, Cersei is on my list. I wouldn't give that kill to anyone else." Arya said, and the atmosphere suddenly turned grim. Jon was the first one to break the silence, letting out a little cough. "I would propose to continue this meeting tommorow. We all spent here some time, we need some rest." he said, and looked towards Daenerys, trying to act as stoic as he could, like this was a normal request that he would make to anyone that was higher in hierarchy than him. But it did not work. After few seconds, he sheepishly turned away his eyes, not being able to stand this gaze that Daenerys offered him each time they had an eye contact. She simply nodded and left the room first, trying her best to control her emotions.

Jon left the room where their meeting took place few minutes after everybody else. He had to cool down, and tried to think through all of the possibilities they could face in the upcoming days. Daenerys' presence was making it hard for him to plan anything, and he knew that they will have to resolve this problem that was clearly outgrowing them with each day. He smirked to himself. They? He was the one looking for excuses to postpone this conversation every day. He was the one that was acting childish, whenever she tried to pick up dialogue with him. Jon clenched his fists and grit his teeth. He hated the way he was acting but was too much of a coward to confront her, afraid of what he could hear in response. Jon slammed his fist on the table, making all of the tiles placed around the table scatter, before turning around and leaving the room in a rush.
He left the castle, heading towards one of the places that always soothed his mind, Godswood. There was something strange in that forest, yet he noticed it only recently. He remembered that Ned spent a lot of time here, many years ago, and he began to understand what was the reason. The forest had this strange aura surrounding itself, making you feel like you are cut off from the real world and its problems.
When Jon was getting closer to the weirwood that grew in the middle of the Godswood, he noticed familiar figure, sitting next to it on his wheelchair. He hoped for the place to be empty, but did not turn away. No matter what their family bonds may be, for Jon, he would always be his younger brother.
"Aegon." Bran said, without even turning around to him. Jon stopped in his tracks, being called his real name the first time in his life. After a second or two, he smiled a bit, "Am I that loud, or did you just guess?" he said and moved to stand in front of him. Bran turned his gaze towards Jon, his face emotionless as always. "I saw you, but not through my eyes. Do you have something to discuss with me?" He asked bluntly, making Jon uncomfortable. He tried his best to treat Bran as his brother, no matter if he indeed was Three Eyed Raven, but with each attempt he made, it was proving more and more futile. "To be honest, I came here to gather my thoughts. I can't really understand why, but this place gives me some kind of peace of mind" Jon finished and touched the weirwood tree's carved face. "A Dragon that finds solitude in a place sacred to Wolves. Isn't it ironic." Bran said, to which Jon felt his body shiver. He let out a deep breath and turned towards Bran once again. "Bran, is it really true? I trust Sam, but at the same time, this entire story is unbelievable." Jon said calmly, yet his heart was racing, like he was expecting getting punched right in the gut.
"It is." Bran only answered, and Jon closed his eyes while smiling in self pity. "And what are you going to do about it?" Bran asked, making Jon turn around "I don't know yet. I don't want the throne, I've never wanted it in the first place. I didn't want to be named the Commander of the Night's Watch, neither the King in the North. If I could, I would just revoke from my claim, and make Daenerys the queen." he said while looking towards the castle. "You don't understand a thing." Bran said, and reached his hand towards Jon, while touching the tree with his second palm. He turned around and looked at his brother in confussion. "Grab it, and brace yourself"

Sansa and Arya were walking through the hallways of Winterfell in silence. The war meeting they had did not resolve anything, Sansa's point of view did not change, and neither did Daenerys' and it looked like they will never reach the proper conclusion or even compromise at this point. "I can't understand her, and Jon in that matter." Sansa said suddenly, pulling Arya away from her thoughts, "She comes here, announces herself queen, and acts like we will all take part in her game. How naive can she be? And then there is Jon. She wrapped him around her finger in a matter of seconds." she finished and they took another turn, getting closer to the great hall. Arya did not really care about the things Sansa was so worried about. It didn't matter for her if Daenerys will win the war, and who will be the queen or king in that manner. What did it change for her? But at the same time, she could understand the way Sansa acted. She made a great leader, clearly caring for the people that lived in the North. "Why do you hate her this much? Did she do anything that offended you?" Arya said, making Sansa stop in her tracks, and look at her sister. "Did you listen to me? I just clearly gave you the reasons that I can't stand this woman." she responded, but Arya's face remained unchanged. "From what I can hear, you are more afraid about your position, and the fact that there is someone who may be more powerful than you." she responded, and before Sansa could say anything, she added, "And don't argue with me on that, she is more powerful than you. Jon is the one who was named the King in the North, and he swore fealty to her." she finished, to which Sansa only turned around and kept walking, making Arya roll her eyes out of annoyance, and grab her arm to stop her. "Answer me. You clearly know that this is not the reason. You are a good leader, and at the same time, you hate Cersei. I assumed that you will be on board with her plan." she said, and Sansa only sighed. "Don't get me wrong, I hate Cersei as much as I can...I'm just worried for Jon. Men do stupid things for love, and Daenerys clearly has a hold of him. She will use him somehow, I'm sure of that. I've seen Cersei pose as lovely, and people loving queen, but it was all the facade. All this talk about breaking the wheel, and caring about people.. Each time I look at Daenerys, I see the exact person Cersei pretended to be." she finished, and Arya smiled. "Did I say anything funny?" Sansa said, clearly angry at her sister. "No, but I think that you should see something. Come, it's not like you have anything better to do, oh Lady of Winterfell." she said, and turned around, Sansa following her in confusion.
They left the castle, earning a bow from every soldier they passed, to which Sansa smiled the each time, but Arya did not care. She didn't change that much, Sansa thought and kept following her sister, until they stopped in front of the barn that was used for the orphaned kids to stay in, at least for now. Arya turned around to face her sister, and put her finger on her lips, telling Sansa that she has to be quiet. Arya quietly opened the doors, making an opening big enough for her and Sansa to see what was going on inside. When Sansa looked through the door, she saw something that she could not believe at first. Daenerys was sitting on the simple chair, with a small girl on her lap, talking with the children that were gathered around her and were laughing from time to time. "Your Grace, which of your dragons is the strongest one?" some kid say, and she saw Daenerys smile and act like she was wondering. "Hmmm.. Drogon is the biggest one, but he is the most problematic also. Rhaegar is the smaller one, but he is much more calm." she said giving the kid a smile that could not be fake. "And is it true that the fire can't touch you?" some girl said, and Daenerys nodded with a smile, lifting up a candle from the table and letting the flame touch her hand in many places. Kids gasped, and started clapping. "But don't try this okay? You have to promise me, it will hurt you, and make some nasty signs on your skin. Especially you Aden" She said, and looked towards the boy that was sitting in front of her to which he rolled his eyes, making her and rest of the kids laugh.
Sansa could not understand a thing. These kids were acting like she was an ordinary woman, that came to spend time with them. None of them was scared of her, none of them was afraid to talk. And the way she acted.. Was it really true?
"I will have to go soon, but I will send someone who will bring you some food in the evening. Do you want some fruits, or maybe something else?" she asked, and all the kids started to yell through each other, but Sansa was still looking directly in Daenerys' face. That's when she saw it. Her happy expression turned to sad and her eyes went watery, the moment she saw how the kids want anything to eat. Sansa felt her lips form into smile, no matter how much she tried to stop it. "Will you visit us tommorow Your Grace?" the girl on Daenerys' lap asked, and Dany quickly shook of her emotions, trying to act happy like before. "I'm not sure, people are starting to wonder why do I keep going missing each day. Soon they will start to follow me. " she said, to which some of the kids made a disappointed sound.
"You see?" Arya said, with a smile on her face. "Could you see Cersei doing something like that?"
Sansa looked at her sister and started wondering. No, she couldn't. Maybe she judged her too quickly?
