He Always Came Back To Her

The second Jon's hand touched the hand of Bran, he felt his mind spinning, and jumping through many places. The first moment Jon could get a grasp of reality, he took a deep breath, and realized that he was standing in the middle of the desert. When he turned around, he saw Bran and gasped. He was standing, without his wheelchair, looking at him without a slight of discomfort, while Jon was about to puke. "What happened? Where are we?" Jon managed to ask, while still trying to comprehend what he was seeing. "In a memory. Very distant to be more precise." Bran answered and started moving towards the large group of people that were not so far away from them. Jon started following him, holding off the pile of questions that were growing inside his head. When he catched up with Bran, they were standing in front of Dothraki raiders, that were about to finish building something that looked like a pyre. They placed a man's corpse on the top and went back making Jon even more confused. "What are we doing here.. and how.." "I've used my powers to show you the glimpses of the past. Since the Night King was defeated, my powers grew immensely." he answered Jon, and pointed towards the pyre that Jon noticed earlier. "And why..", "You need to understand Jon. I'm going to show you the past of Daenerys Targaryen."
The next moment, Jon saw Daenerys, leaving one of the tents. She was much younger, yet she looked tired, dehydrated and what was the most concerning for Jon, afraid. Suddenly, a pair od Dothraki came from behind the tent, holding a woman that looked like a native from Essos. She had bruises all over her, her hair a mess, but beside that, she was silent and calm. They began chaining her to the pyre, making Jon freeze in fear. Was Daenerys going to execute this woman by burning her alive? "She is the one who killed Daenerys' husband. Poisoned him, while offering that she would heal him." Bran said, like he was reading Jon's thoughts. It made the situation a bit more clear for Jon, yet he still felt like this was too much. But at the same time, he could not place himself in her position, and he knew it. He shook his head, and saw Daenerys exchanging few words with Jorah, before turning around to face the rest of the Dothraki.
"You will be my Khalasar. I see the faces of slaves, but I free you. Take of your collars, go if you wish, noone will stop you! But if you stay, it will be as brothers and sisters, as husbands and wives!" Daenerys said, her voice powerful as always, yet Jon could notice that she was trembling. She was afraid, maybe unsure of her decision. Few of the dothrakis left after hearing that they are free to go, but the rest stayed, and kept listening to Daenerys' words. "I am Daenerys Stormborn, of House Targaryen. Of the blood of Old Valyria, I am the dragon's daughter, and I swear to you! That those who would harm you will die, screaming!" Dany finished, and lit the pyre. Fire quickly caught up with the rest of dry wood, making the woman that was chained there scream in agony. But this wasn't the part that made Jon look away. The cause of that, was what Daenerys did next. She slowly but surely started walking towards the fire, not hesitant at all, like all of her doubts disappeared when the fire was born. Jon knew that this was only a memory, that she surely had to be fine after that but he still could not stop himself from looking away. "Don't." Bran said, and looked towards Jon, "You have to see it all"
After seeing the dragons being born, Bran showed Jon many other moments from Dany's past. The day in which her dragons got kidnapped, the moment when she freed the Unsullied and Missandei, the freeing of Mereen, how she learned how to rule, and how she lost people one by one. Jorah's betrayal, Barristan's death.. How she named Tyrion the hand of the queen, the day she set her foot on Dragonstone, and finally, When she met him.
"I think that's enough." Bran said, and the next moment Jon knew, he was back in Winterfell sitting on the frozen ground, trying to catch his breath, feeling the world spinning. When he finally composed himself, he stood up and looked towards Bran, who was once again sitting in his wheelchair, like nothing really happened. "Why haven't you showed me this earlier?" Jon managed to ask, and Bran shifted his gaze towards the weirwood tree. "Because you didn't need to know before. The Night King was more important." he bluntly responded, and Jon started getting angry. "But it does not matter right now. Do you now understand?" Bran followed up, and Jon did his best to cool down. "Aye. I do" He responded with serious look, but Bran repeated the question once again, "I will ask again, do you understand now? You can't revoke your claim. You can't help her get the throne, and then come back to north leaving her there. You are the first person in her life that offered her the emotions she so long yearned for without any hidden meaning. Just like she did, for you." Bran finished and Jon looked up to the sky, letting out a deep breath. He was right. Now when he had seen all that Bran showed him, he knew what he had to do, and before he decided to leave, Bran said one more thing "She can't do it without you. You two were destined to meet each other, and go forward as one. There is no her without you, and there is no you without her, Aegon"

Daenerys was sitting in her room, while Missandei was unbraiding her hair. The sun was setting, and she started to feel the weight of the entire day making it's way on her. Jon brushed her off, yet once again. She was starting to get used to it, maybe that was the way it was supposed to be? "Is something wrong, Your grace?" Missandei asked, pullin Daenerys away from her thoughts. "No, not really. I'm just wondering." Dany said, trying to brush off her question. "About what? or who?" Missandei kept digging. Dany sighed, knowing that she might as well say it. It won't change a thing after all. "It's about Jon. He keeps avoiding me." "And what is the reason of that if I may ask?" Missandei said, with curious expression. "Missandei, stop with being all formal. We are here alone, and I treat you as a close friend. I hope you feel the same for me." Daenerys responded, earning a smile and a nod from her advisor. "So, Daenerys what is the reason of that?" She repeated herself, and Dany looked down. "We.. We've learned about something. Something that is clearly an obstacle for him. An obstacle that does not mean anything to me, yet for him.. I think that it's too much to just ignore it."
She could not tell her the truth. It is not because she did not trust her, but it was just easier that way. The less people knew, the better, and at the same time she didn't feel like she was the one that should tell people the truth about Jon's parents. It was his choice, and he had to choose whether he would openly confront it, or dig it deep enough for noone to find out.
"I see.. I won't pry anything from you, but.." Missandei started, softly combing Daenerys hair, " But Lord Snow always found his way back to you, didn't he? I think that you should trust him a bit more, no matter what the problem is." She finished, and Daenerys smiled softly. She was not wrong. He always came back to her. Even from beyond the wall, when she saw him fall into the frozen lake, pulled down underwater by few wights.. He came back to her. Dany needed these words. Someone reassured her, that it's still worth to wait, to give him more time.
Missandei giggled, making Daenerys turn her head around awaiting answer. "If you could only see yourself Daenerys. Just a second ago you were smiling like a little girl." She said and Daenerys rolled her eyes, but kept smiling either way. "If Lord Snow has this effect on a woman like you, maybe I should pay him a visit? If even mentioning him can put someone in that state..." Missandei said, making a dreamy voice, to which Daenerys turned around and punched her softly in a joking manner. "Missandei!" she said, and both girls started laughing. It felt good. It felt good to be her for a while, to be called Daenerys, and not 'Your Grace' or 'My queen'.
They were chatting and laughing from time to time, until a knock on the doors interrupted them. Dany did not know who could it be, especially at this hour. Missandei looked at her with a smile, "I think you should be the one to open that door" she said, and made Daenerys' heart beat twice faster. Was it really him?
She almost jumped towards the doors, and with shaking hand she grabbed a door knob, slowly pulling the doors open
