Do you mean it?

"What do you propose then?" Sansa asked, with a calm tone in her voice, as an attempt to cover up the way she almost lost her temper during their last war council. She eyed Daenerys with much more warm in her gaze, and she was sure the feeling was mutual.
"After discussion with Lord Snow I've decided that our soldiers deserve rest, and it will benefit not only them, but us included." Daenerys responded with a smile, but no the fake one she was forced to wear when she came to Winterfell, this smile was genuine, and at the same time was supposed to convey a subtle yet firm 'thank you' for Sansa. Daenerys really was grateful to the Lady of Winterfell for accepting her, more or less.
"That is unexpected to say the least" Sansa said back, with a slight smile, "But welcomed nonetheless. I'm happy that we came to the agreement, but unfortunately, it creates another problem" Sansa added, smile on her face disappearing, replaced with a serious expression
"The food supplies?" Jon said, and earned a subtle nod from his sister, "As I thought. We are already spread thin, having to provide for the entire army combined with the people we agreed to shelter after everything that happened with the Night King. Leaving for the siege first thing tommorow doesn't sound as bad as it did. " Jon ended with an attempt of a joke, but none really laughed. The situation was not as serious, but it was a growing problem that could turn into flamestarter if not dealt with carefully. They won the war with the Night King, so morale were high and it worked in their favor, some of the more hardheaded northmen and dothraki were getting almost irritated by their sudden decision to postpone the march south. They had to act with cool head, and all of them knew that Cersei was not someone that they can underestimate.
"Seems like none of the options is a good one." Tyrion said out loud what was on everyone's mind at the moment. "We can either give our soldiers a few more days and start our march on King's Landing, but it will give my dear sister more time to gather resources and manpower for our siege. On the other hand, if we will leave tommorow morning for example, most of our soldiers won't be able to fight when we reach King's Landing." he said, and sat down on the chair letting out a long sigh.
"We can't also expect for the weather to change in the manner of days" Jaimie added, hesitant to spoke up until now. "The Night King might be dead, but it doesn't mean that the winter will go away. And even if it did, what's done is done, we can't expect crops for some time with a frozen ground and people left without their homes thanks to the army of the dead." he finished, earning a nod from Sansa and Daenerys.
"I don't think the dead were interested in pillaging and burning houses, but you are right, we can't expect any food income for quite some time. Also we can't really be sure if the lands north of Winterfell are safe, and if they are, how many people will want to go back. I can imagine not everyone being so happy about going back north, when they saw what came from there." Jon said, and leaned over the table with the Westeros map. "We will send out scouts north" he continued, drawing a line from the Winterfell to the Wall with his finger, "Send out as many as you think is necessary, and give them best horses and supplies. Their job is to look for any signs of danger that are worth noticing, be it bandits or wights. Then we will decide what to do with our food problem. Give them 3 or 4 days, if nothing will come up during that time, We will start giving people back their lands, which will at the same time lower our food demand, and our soldiers can use that time to gather their strenght.  Can I trust you with that?" Jon finished, looking towards Jaimie.

"Are you sure you want to me be in charge of that? There is a high chance that people won't listen to a word I'll say, knowing who I am of course." Jaimie responded, feeling the gazes of everyone in the room
"Aye, it might be true" Jon said, with a serious expression, "But they will have to learn to accept you if you plan to stay with us." he finished, sending Jaimie a knowing look
He is giving me a chance to prove my loyalty , Jaimie thought and bow down before Jon and Daenerys.
"I will handpick the men myself and start organising right away my Lord. My queen."
he said, and left the council room in a hurry passing some guards and a random boy standing near the windowsill. Jon could've shamed him in public, cut him down on the spot for disobeying orders, or just plainly prison him, but instead he gave him a second, if not third chance to prove himself, and did so without anyone else knowing what happened.
He really is wise beyond his years. To think he wanted to waste away at the Wall, Jaimie thought and chuckled to himself remembering the first time they met.
