Chapter 20
Continue Evangeline’s POV
“What can’t he say to me?” I asked.
“You heard that?” they looked surprised.
Was I not supposed to hear that? Oh no, they probably think I am some sort of freak or something because I heard what he said.
“Uhm. Uh, you may not know a secret of him” Jaden said.
“What secret?” Jeez. They just made me curious. What aren’t they telling me? I need to know to survive! Well, I do not need to know to survive; it’s just an expression I think. But I really want to know. I’m talking to myself again, I need to stop doing this… it’s annoying. Well why don’t I stop talking then? UGH! Stop talking to yourself!
Jason stopped my rambling in my head.
“We’ll make a proposition, you tell us why you screamed and we’ll tell you his secret.”
“I think I’ll survive”
“Okaayyy. I felt like I should scream a few minutes ago. Now it is your turn. What is his secret?” I lied fluently, but apparently Jason had other plans.
“I know that that isn’t the truth.”
“How would you know if that is the truth or not?”
“Well Marcus can read minds and he just said that that wasn’t the-“he cut himself off because he just realized what he said “Oh shit”.
I stared at him with my eyes and mouth wide open “You uhm you can read minds?” I asked Marcus.
“Yes I can. Jealous?”
“No because I don’t want to know what goes around in boys dirty little minds” I retorted.
“Good answer, I admit you’ve got some good replies. You’ve got a good future ahead my child” he said in a fatherly tone.
“Haha, can you see the future too?” I asked smiling a little.
“I wish” he said with a fake sad face and I rolled my eyes.
“So now really, what is your secret?” I asked curious.
“Well...” he said scratching the back of his neck “Uhm, well I can read minds “he looked at me waiting for my reaction and I blushed.
Can he really read minds? Does he know what I am thinking? Will he think I am stupid because I talk to myself?
“No I don’t think it’s stupid that you talk in your head “he said with a chuckle and I blushed more even though you couldn’t see it with my type of skin. The guys snickered a little before turning to me with curious expressions.
“Well… why aren’t you freaking out?” Michael asked.
“Well, uhm I asked for the truth and I got it. That is all I need, I do not need to freak out because I got an honest answer right?” I said in Marcus’ direction with one eyebrow slightly up, I wanted him to prove that he wasn’t lying.
“We are going to test if you can really read minds; you do not mind do you?” I said in a sweet voice.
Wow! I never thought I could pull that voice off. That’s such an irritating tone. Uggh I hate it, I am trying to never use it again.
“Sit down please” I said to Marcus but everyone started to find a place to sit down, guess they want to see this.
“I was just talking to Marcus but you can join the show” I said with a smile. I went to sit in front of Marcus with my right leg over my left leg and my hands on my lap. They all sat on my bed, wow eight boys on my bed… how does that fit? They are all sitting on my bed all next to each other behind Marcus.
Marcus was in front of me and right behind him there was Michael sitting crossed legged and with his elbows on his knees. Everyone was sitting like that except for Marcus. My eyes widened a little.
“Oh my god! I have to take a picture of this! HOLD ON! DO NOT MOVE!” I shouted excited, and that while there wasn’t even a meter distance between us.
They all winced a little while I shot up and practically ran to my bag on my table. I was looking through my bag and found what I was looking for, my camera. I picked it up and turned around to see them sitting the way I left them and I smiled. I adjusted my camera, dragged my chair away and said “Smile!” they all smiled and I smiled because it was a really nice picture and they actually listened to me.
I looked at my screen and decided that I should make another picture but where they all have a genuine smile, not a fake one that everyone has when they smile for a picture.
“Peanut butter jelly” I said quickly and they looked confused so I quickly snapped a picture and looked at the screen again.
“Ahhw, I did not want the picture to be like this” I whined and they all laughed so I took my chance and made a picture and looked at the screen again. And with what I saw I was bewildered, this was probably the most amazing picture I ever made.
The guys were all smiling so bright, I smiled mostly to myself and I forgot that there were other people in the room. I felt like it was just me and the picture, this was my most amazing picture ever. And without realizing I started walking still with my gaze glued to the screen of my camera and the smile still plastered on my face. I started walking to my bag; I got my laptop and picked up my charger. I walked to my bed still in my own world, I sat cross legged on my bed and didn’t realize everyone had moved a little so they could encircle me and my laptop.
I opened my laptop and put the USB charger out so I could plug it in into my laptop. I put the charger in my camera and plugged the USB in my computer when it was fully started. The little option screen appeared and I clicked on save pictures.
All the pictures started saving in my laptop, and I finally started realizing again where I was. I looked around and saw all the boys staring at me with a smile.
“What?” I asked with my eyes widening.
“You ditch me to make pictures?’” Marcus asked.
“Yeah, of you” I replied with a grin on my face. “I just made the most amazing picture of all times!” I was so happy.
“So what were we doing again?” I asked.
“You were going to test if Marcus could really read minds” Jackson said.
“Oh yeah.”
