Chapter 22

We were now walking towards the elevator “Can I take the stairs please?” I asked, I wasn’t really comfortable with being in an elevator with eight boys.

“Yeah sure want me to come with you?” Samuel asked.

“Oh no that is okay. I just like to take the stairs”

“But we’re on the fifth floor; you’ll be tired when you’re downstairs”

“I lived for fifteen years on the fifth floor.’ I said walking to the staircase, I opened the door and heard *ping*, phew they went by elevator. I ran downstairs and didn’t see the boys; the elevator was still on its way. So I stood there for five seconds waiting before I realized that I didn’t wear normal clothes I was still in my pajamas.

I quickly opened the door to the staircase and ran upstairs, when I arrived at the fifth floor I darted to my room and opened the door. I was smart enough to hang my key on a chain around my neck. I quickly ran inside and went to my luggage; I opened it and found a loose trouser and a sweater with a hood. I pulled it on and went downstairs again, but not before closing my door, when I arrived downstairs again I saw boys everywhere.

I figured that they already went to the office so I walked towards the door with Principal on it. I knocked and the door opened almost immediately. I was bombarded with people talking to me and asking me questions “Where were you?” “Why were you this late” “I told you, you would be tired when you came down”

“HEY!” I shouted and they stopped talking “let me in and I will explain” they stepped away and I walked inside the office and closed the door. I sat down in one of the chairs cross legged and with my hands on my lap and waited for everybody to sit; when they did I started “Okay. We were in my room and I was thinking about school, we decided that we were going to get my school stuff now. They went down with the elevator and I was going with the stairs, when I was down the elevator didn’t arrive yet and I noticed that I was still in my pajama’s. So I quickly ran upstairs to my room and changed and I came down here to see a lot of people in the halls. When I didn’t see you guys I decided to go to the principal’s office to see if you guys were there. When I knocked on the door I was bombarded with questions and made a comment. Then I went to sit down and the rest followed, when we were all finally sitting I started my boring story about why I was late. There you go, know you know why I was late, what now?”

They all looked at me “Sorry” Samuel and Jacob said at the same time.

“You are forgiven” I said smiling. “So now down to business” I turned to the principal “I have a few questions if you don’t mind”

“Go ahead” he gave me permission to ask my questions so I started.

“First things first, can I have my schedule please?” he nodded and stood up, he walked over to a cabinet, it was big and grey, something that you always see in movies. I took a look around in the office, it wasn’t big but it wasn’t small either, it was a rectangular chamber and if you stood at the door you saw a window facing you. Just before the window was a desk with a chair behind it.

The desk was rectangular; it had a beautiful dark brown color. There were a number of papers on the desk and a used coffee mug, there were also a few pens and pencils and a sharpener. On the left side of the desk there was a small trash bin and a paper shredder, and about half a meter to the left there was a big gray cabinet, next to the right side of the cabinet was a small brown table with a coffee machine on it.

On the right side of the desk were two brown comfortable chairs with a table in the middle. The floor was also a dark brown color, but the walls were beige. By the time I was done looking around the principal found my schedule “Here you go would you like me to explain it?” he asked.

“No thank you, I will ask it to one of my dorm later. Now I would like to know something else”

“Go on”

“Well, the first day I came here we said that I would pretend to be a boy, is that still on?”

“Yes, I don’t want every boy looking at you.”

“So where do I get a boys uniform that will fit me, and how do I look and sound like a boy?”

“Well I will order one your size and in the mean while you can borrow one of Samuels, he is kind of the same length as you. And for the looks, the way you do or approach something, how you talk, the way you talk and the way you walk you should go to the boys, they’ll teach you.”

“Okay. Well that was it, I did not think of more because I was interrupted while I was thinking about school and what I needed.” I shot Marcus a glare and he smiled like he didn’t do anything. “OH WAIT! I forgot something! Uhm… sorry for the shouting.’”The boys laughed “Where do I get my books?”

The principal laughed this time “You do only think of school.”

I was embarrassed, why does he say that? Oh Marcus must have told him that. I looked at him and saw him smiling like that again, OH YEAH! Mind reading! STUPID! He laughed out loud this time. Now the principal shut up immediately and looked to me with a questioning look while I just looked a little irritated because Marcus could read my mind.

“Samuel could you go with Evangeline and give her one of your uniforms?” the principal asked Samuel “Yes sir” he answered.

 “Wait!” I said
