"One thing I have desired of the Lord, that will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life; to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in His temple." ~Psalm 27:4

Father, why do I have these anxieties
When I am captured by these beauties?
I am dismayed and I am broken
When on Your creation I am focused

You breathed life into us when You made us in the glory of Your image
Yet we corrupted ourselves by sin and death
The gifts, riches we pursue and the popularity to which we are driven
Are but a fading shadow and a passing breath

Though we deem each other gods and goddesses
Yet our fairest forms are but fragile clay
Our passing seasons are surpassing evidences
That You are the greatest, for You remain

On my own sight, I am unable to grasp
Your call to us that is high and unsurpassed
Can I entrust such mysteries to my finite mind?
By it, the peace and rest can I hope to find?

Such is too wonderful for me
The awesome mystery to Your beauty
Be my comfort; renew and redeem
My mind and worship away from idolatry

Grant me understanding according to Your Word
The Author and Fountain of this, let me not spurn
Our fairest forms are but fragile clay
You are worthy to pursue for You alone remain

I have hope and believe
In what I have not seen
My faith is its substance
And the evidence of these

I submit; judge by Thy sword!
I will trust and not refute
Blessed are You, O Lord!
Teach me Your statutes!
