I'm writing this on my phone!!! In the middle of the night. My mom thinks I'm asleep XD
"Jerome, I'm giving you one chance at this. One chance. That's all."
"What do you mean?"
"This."
A blast of light blinded me temporarily. When I looked down at my arms, I squealed at the lack of fur on them.
"Go look at your reflection, Jerome. You'll understand."
I hopped out of my oak tree and ran to the nearest lake. In my reflection, I saw a large boy with gold-lemonade eyes and dark brown hair.
"No, no, no, that's not me, is it?"
"Yes it is."
"H-how?! Why?"
The sky was dark blue and the sun was yet to rise. It seemed it was about midnight, maybe a tad later.
"You have a day to win the hunter's heart. He's going on a camping trip, so he'll be here for a while. You have until 2am tomorrow. Oh, there he is now!" Winter exclaimed.
I bent down by the lake and ignored her, washing my face in the water.
"Hey, you okay? I don't think I've met you before. I'm Mitch."
The hunter's voice was beautiful.
