I had awaken in a strange place, but one I recognized. I walked out of what seemed like a bedroom. The beautiful, glossy lake. I remember. The mist, the boat, and a man.

I softly sang what I remembered.

"There were candles all around
And on the lake, there was a boat
And in the boat, there was a man
Who was that shape in the shadows?
Whose is the face in the mask?"

The mysterious man turn to face me. I put my hands lightly around his mask. I could sense he was uneasy, but he trusted me. I slowly peeled off his mask.

He rises in anger and pushes me to the ground. Covering the side of his face to where his mask used to be. As I'm still holding his mask in my hand. Then he sings angrily.

"Damn you!
You little prying Pandora!
You little demon
Is this what you wanted to see?
Curse you!
You little lying Delilah!
You little viper
Now you cannot ever be free!

you'll learn to see
To find the man behind the monster
This repulsive carcass, who seems a beast
But secretly dreams of beauty
Secretly... secretly
Oh, Y/n"

I gently handed him his mask back my hand shaking with fear. A tear ran down my face and I could tell he was upset. He sat up and put his hand out for me to take it and said.

"Come, we must return"

I take his hand and follow him to the boat where he takes me back to the dancers hall. I walk back to my room but as I do I turn to look behind me and he was gone.

I felt arms go around me. It was Meg she had hugged me in happiness. I returned the hug.

"Oh my y/n where have you been! Poor dear you seem distraught." Meg said to me in question.

I quietly sang in response to her.

"I was in a strange place, darkness filled. But was calm and quiet."

Meg still holding me brought me back to our room. I laid down on my bed. Madame Giry walks into the room.

"Hello dear, how are you feeling. You look not well." Madame Giry told me.

"I feel okay, but I feel I need rest." I said.

"Okay dear, well don't be late for the Prima Donna practice." Madame Giry said to me then walked out of the room.

I awoke to Meg softly shaking me out of bed. I felt better. I emerged and changed into the appropriate attire. Meg brought me out to the Oprea stage.

All the dancers stood by Madame Giry, that is where Meg and I went to stand. The Prima Donna that was already selected walked out singing.

After she was done, the dancers walked out in unison and began there dance. Madame Giry watching each and every one of us dancers.

The Monsieur's came out to observe us. They talked to Madame Giry. Then our dance part ended. The Prima Donna came back out.

The Monsieur's interrupted to say that we had a Viscount.

He walked out to greet everyone. I looked at him and I recongized that handsome face. I smiled and whispered to Meg.

"Thats my childhood friend. Guess you could say childhood sweetheart." I said to Meg. Meg smiled sweetly to me.

The Viscount then left and brushed passed me.

"I wondered if he recongized me." I said to Meg. She said in respons. "Oh y/n he probably did. No doubt."

The Prima Donna then gleefully walked up to the Monsieur's and began to sing the song for tonights Opera.

All of a sudden I hear Meg scream in terror. I look up to see one of the curtains had fallen and fell on the Prima Donna.

The worker who is in charge of the upper part of the Opera Populaire, went back to the rafts to lift the curtains up and apologized. He said he wasn't at his station.

The Prima Donna yelled vigorously at the Monsieur's and stormed out. The Monsieur's said there must be an understudy and the Maestro exclaimed that there is no understudy.

Meg whispered to me.

"You'd be perfect for the part." She smiled.

Madame Giry stepped up and said.

"Y/n can do it."

I sorta smiled. The Monsieur's asked me who my teacher was. I said I don't know who. Madame Giry pushed them to give me a chance. The Monsieur's obliged.

I nervously began to sing the song.

"Think of me, think of me fondly
When we've said goodbye
Remember me, once in a while
Please promise me you'll try
When you find that once again you long
To take your heart back and be free
If you ever find a moment
Spare a thought for me"

We fast forward to that night when the Opera began.

"We never said our love was evergreen
Or as unchanging as the sea
But if you can still remember
Stop and think of me
Think of all the things
We've shared and seen
Don't think about the way
Things might have been

Think of me, think of me waking
Silent and resigned
Imagine me trying too hard
To put you from my mind
Recall those days
Look back on all those times
Think of the things we'll never do
There will never be a day
When I won't think of you"

I continued to sing and once I had finished around of applause had filled the Opera Populaire. It was the most beautiful moment I have experienced.

Narrator- As y/n began to leave the stage the Viscount stood up from box 5 and sang in return remembering who y/n was to him.

I walked off stage once the curtains had closed and went to the dressing room. I was greeted by Madame Giry. She said he was very pleased and gave me a bouquet of flowers.

Not even a mintute later the Viscount walks in.

"Oh little y/n let her innocent mind wonder."

I looked up in surprisement but a smile on my face.

"Jules! Oh how I have missed you." I said in excitment.

He hugged me then knelt down besides me.

(Author Note- I'mma get lazy but its similar to the movie scence between Christene and Raoul. Back to the story.)

After we had exchanged words, he told me to hurry for dinner. I told him to wait, but as usual he did not.

I finished getting changed. Once I did everything fell silent. Then a voice came in anger.
