AN: Yeah so I had to write an essay for holiday homework because of the lockdown in my country and I liked it so here you go! The question is in bold

Warning: Mentions of bullying

3. Write a story about your friend who was bullied at school and how you helped her or him to overcome the problem. End your story with ....

".........I will never forget that incident."

As I sat in front of Eve, I sipped at my coffee as she launched into a fast-paced conversation that only those who knew her personally could keep up with.

I observed her as she talked. It was clear she was excited to see me again after half a year since I was sent halfway across the globe to further my study. It became clearer to me that her current personality differed greatly compared to back then.

A few years ago, only a broken smile could be found plastered on her face. Due to her father being accused of being a murderer, she was severely bullied.

Her 'friends' who were close to her before the declaration either shunned her or bullied her because of it. Her father was only proven innocent after a year of bullying started, but the scars ran deep.

Back then, I was an introvert and hated socialising, and I tend to ignore those around me. The teachers always turned a blind eye when it came to me because my grades were top notch. To them, as long as my grades were good, there was no need to care about my behaviour. Due to that, I never knew or cared about the bullying that happened to Eve.

However, that all changed when I met Eve.

I first met her as I was walking down the hallway, annoyed at the fact I had to stay in school for club practices. She ran into me as she turned the corner, the force nearly making us fall to the ground. I held her steady and was surprised as she had tears falling down her cheeks.

She looked at me in genuine surprise before she tried to struggle out of my grip.

"Where is that murderer's daughter?" A loud, booming voice rang through the corridor of the corner she had turned. My eyebrows rose with curiosity at the statement and I looked at the struggling girl in my hands.

I shook my head in annoyance, finally understanding the situation.

"Follow me." That was all I said before pulling her away from the intersection. She looked at me with fear but ceased her struggles and allowed me to drag her away.

I quickly brought her out of the school building and guided her to the back of the school. I sat her down onto the ground and took a seat next to her.

"Don't you know who I am?" she asked, looking at me with slight anger in her eyes.

I replied with a no, then added the fact that I did not care either.

She stared at me with confusion, as if trying to understand my obliviousness to the world. She looked away with sadness in her eyes, before questioning why I had helped her.

"What kind of gentleman will I be if I ignore a damsel in distress?" I closed my eyes as I replied her, already tired of talking with her.

That sentence left her dumbfounded. She bowed her head, stifled sobs escaping her lips. My eyelids flew open as I stared at her, panicked because she was crying for a reason unknown to me.

I awkwardly wrapped my arm around her in an attempt to comfort her. She surprised me further by burying her face in my chest and sobbed.

Normally, human contact would leave me greatly disgusted and I would shove everyone off me, but this time I did not since I knew she needed it. It was clear that she had hidden these emotions in her for a long time and needed the release. So we just sat there like that for around ten minutes before she got off me.
