AN: I know some of you are looking forward to the writing I have worked on for over 6 hours and still is not done with, but as I have explained to you I was rushing it already so it was time to stop before the piece of art was destroyed :3

So for now take this short part I have written beforehand~

Warning:
1. This is angsty I guess?
2. This is my few attempts at being psychological with my writing
3. Hints of depression and fear of being alone/ people leaving

I think that's all the warnings...
6th day of back to back update tomorrow makes a week~ then back to weird random updates

Anyway as per usual, enjoy~

“If only,” Sal snarled. “Is that the only thing you can say until now?”

“Sal…” she mumbled, barely audible as Sal turned her back on the crying girl.

“That’s enough, Sal!” Ash said angrily as he hugged the crying girl. “You’re talking nonsense!”

“Am I now?” Sal said and laughed. “Why don’t you ask Lilac? Am I being nonsensical?”

Lilac continued to cling onto Ash, terrified. She shook her head wildly, not wanting to face the harsh reality.
“People like us,” Sal said as she looked back at Ash and Lilac. “We’re the biggest liars and excuse givers.”

“We smile and say everything is fine. We say we don’t want to do something because of some reason, but in reality we just don’t want to deal with our problems.” Sal continued as she walked towards the door. “‘If’ is a word that fits our needs perfectly when we regret not fixing the problem. If only I did it. If only if this problem never resurfaced. If only.”

“I’m sick of it. I’m sick of your excuses. I’m sick of you staying in this state. I’m sick of it.” Sal glared at Lilac who squirmed under her stare and buried her face in Ash’s chest so Lilac didn’t have to see the terrifying look on Sal’s face.

“Enough Sal!” Ash growled at the girl who let out a lazy smile in response.

“If you say so, Ash.” She shrugged and reached for the door knob.

“S-Sal… Don’t leave…” Lilac hiccuped and reached a hand towards Sal. “Don’t leave me….”

Sal gripped the door knob, hesitating for a moment, but her mind was made up. She swung the door open.

“Don’t leave me Sal!” Lilac howled but Ash held her back. There was no need for Sal in Lilac’s life anymore. Sal was just going to ditch Lilac again.

Sal looked back at the pair and pulled up her hood.

“I told you before. Help yourself if you want others to help you. I gave you time to help yourself before I would help you, but you never listened. Yet, you repeat your actions again and again.” Sal took a step out the room. “Wake up. The whole world doesn’t pause for you just because you’re stuck in the past. Life moves on, believe it or not.”

With that, she left shutting the door behind her. Lilac screamed in despair as soon as the door shut. It was a sign, Sal was gone from her life forever. The door of friendship between them has closed, never to be reopened.

Ash frowned at the girl. There must be a good reason Sal left Lilac in this sorry state. However, the most important thing now was to help Lilac and not think of reasons why Sal would leave.

‘What were you thinking Sal?’ Ash wondered as Lilac continued crying in his arms. ‘How can you just leave?’

Meanwhile, Sal stood outside the room, listening to Lilac’s cries. It was too late to regret her decision. The damage had been done.

Her mind wondered back to the advice of one of her old friends.

“No regrets. Walk forward, because you can’t change the past.”

She sighed and looked at her watch.

“Time’s up.” She mumbled and proceeded to her destination.
