What the-
I blinked my eyes at the bright light shone directly at me as I groaned in annoyance, burying my face into my pillows. Half awake, I got up to my window and draw the curtains closed before plopping down the bed again. Just as I was about to drift off to la la land, the vibrations of my phone caught my attention. Why can't the world just go away? Sliding the screen to answer the call, I put it against my ears. "Honey bee!" Surprised, I jolted up from bed and glanced onto the called id. "Jazzy?!" I squealed in delight, suddenly feeling vibrant. "I miss you so much" I said, feeling hot tears forming in my eyes.
"Me too honey bee, me too. How long are you going to stay there?" Right. I forgot we'll have to leave eventually. Shrugging as though she could actually see it, I muttered a soft, "I'm not sure" that came out barely audible.
We continued to chat 'til noon, telling her everything that happened in the past few days while smiling at the scenes replaying fresh in my mind. Finally bidding goodbye, I got up and did the usual morning routine before meeting the other girls downstairs.
Skipping down the steps, I walked into the living room where Aria was seated alone at the couch, seemingly preoccupied with her thoughts. I watched as her face scrunched up with both disgust and annoyance. "Ari!" I yelled, waving a hand in front of her face as she jumped up in her seat. "Never ever do that ever again" she said, placing a hand over her chest as she leaned back on the couch and bore the ceiling with her empty gaze.
"Aria what's wrong?" Placing a hand on her lap, I shook it gently as she released a long sigh before averting her gaze onto me. Sitting upright again, she positioned herself just so she was now facing me, face to face. "Lucas" She uttered out, rolling her eyes and crossing her arms. I knew she wanted to look as though she hated him but the redness on her cheeks were proving it otherwise. "What about him" I asked naively, acting as if I was clueless about the topic.
Aria ruffled her already messed up hair as she averted my gaze, looking down on the floor. "I think, I like him" she said barely audible, but I somehow managed to catch the words that poured out of her mouth. I gasped, acting surprised as I placed a hand on her shoulders. "Oh goodness, and?" I resisted the urge to pinch her cheeks at the sight of her trying to hide the smile forming on her lips. It was oddly adorable. "I don't know" she said, looking up with a large grin splitting her face. But it was gone in an instant as she looked away, her eyes turned hard and cold. "Oh, dream on!" She hissed, standing up and leaving me in the living room dumbfounded.
What just happened?
Following her retreating figure, I walked into the kitchen where she stood by the counter, spreading strawberry jam all over the white bread. Grabbing the bread, I put it behind me as I held out my palms towards her, taking a step back. "Wait" I managed to utter out, swallowing a lump forming in my throat at the sight of her cold glare. It was so terrifying, I just had to shudder. "Can you at least tell me what's wrong with you liking Luke? Because I really don't see the harm in it" I said softly, grabbing her hands that were surprisingly as cold as her glare. No kidding. Her eyes soften as she nodded, waving her hands in the air; a habit she does whenever she was either flustered or just pure frustrated. Pulling her to the dining table, we pulled out a seat. "I'm afraid" she started as I stare at her with a look of curiousty and intensity.
"I'm afraid I'll fall deeply in love with him" "I still don't get what's wrong with that" "Everything Mia!" She screamed, anger taking posession of her body. I winced at her sudden outburst as I saw her eyes filled with tears. I knew she was thinking about it again. Feeling horrible, I pulled her in close to me, making her lean against my shoulders. "I'm sorry Aria, I forgot about that" I was slightly taken aback when I felt my shirt drenched in tears, pulling her up, I cupped her face with my palms, wiping away her tears with my thumb.
