"Do you wanna date?"
"Oh I'm sorry, I can't-"
"I meant a date. Do you want to eat one?"
Kiley remembered how she hastily arranged the last bits of her outfit, which took hours to piece together mind you, and took in a deep breath before opening her well-carved door.
It was her first date; first date with him to be specific. She had been crushing on him for years now, and when the teacher finally heard her silent prayers, they were matched together for their latest University dance project. And well, sparks flew like she had hoped they would and she couldn’t resist squealing after he had asked her out.
Jackson Lee was by far the most handsome and suave man alive in their dance class, in the school in fact. It was amazing when they danced, they seemed like one. Kiley never felt happier to be able to move her body with definite synchronization with someone as seemingly perfect as Lee.
Her heart was now beating hard against her chest, her palms unconsciously perspiring already. Wiping her sweaty palms off her towel by the door, she inhaled and shyly stepped out her door. She was amazed by the very man that stood by the couch a floor below her, donned dashingly even in just his jeans and a collared shirt. He didn’t even have to try sometimes and girls would be ogling at his feet.
She took careful steps down the flight of stairs in her heels, which her mother insisted she wear because she quotes, “No woman wears converse with a dress! How preposterous!” she smiled shyly as Lee grinned, seemingly pleased with how his date had dressed.
“You look great, Kiles.”
Her heart did a triple flip when he not only complimented her and called her by his new nickname for her again, but also when he flashed his charming smile. How on Earth was she going to survive the night with such a man?
He opened the car door and she slipped in effortlessly due to her petite body. He joined her at the other side of the car, hands already starting the car up.
“You ready, princess?” He asked, genuinely smiling at her as he reached across to hold her hand.
She smiled and intertwined their fingers, the pulsating beating of her heart slowly calming down.
“Only if you’re my prince,” She replied, earning a wide grin from him and the roar of the engine, as the car brought them down to the destination of their first date.

Kiley remembered her first date with Lee at the back of her hand and it felt as though everything was happening again. Perhaps both parties held blame for they simply couldn't find a time between studies and dance to date. But hey, they spent majority of their time together so that should count somewhat, right?
Distressed at her loss of fashion skills at the moment, she quickly grabbed her phone before speed-dialling her best friend's number. She had Allison's number as 3 because her brother occupied 2 and well, pizza occupied the number one place in her heart.
"Code Red Emergency." She groaned, plopping herself onto her bed as her forearm slapped her eyes closed.
