What A Day
7.
"I sometimes believe in six impossible things every morning before breakfast and my mother used to say I thought up of the strangest ideas and concepts. Yet, it was unfathomed and beyond my mind that I would actually meet you again, out of all places here even."

"I'd like to start off by thanking all of you for joining us in this project," Mr Edmund, Kiley's principal spoke with his fatherly smile as he addressed everyone in the conference room. "Nash and I are extremely grateful to all of your participation in this project and we're sure the kids are as well."
"As all of you know, Nash and I have been organizing similar projects over the past years and for the first time ever, we've had had a special request from the children. And that very request is what has brought us to get together our best dancers who have willingly volunteered to perform for the children this coming Christmas. It would be a series of pair blah blah blah blah blah..."
Kiley couldn't help but drown out Mr Edmund's voice the moment the word 'pair' slipped past his lips. She could feel an intent gaze on her but have been too terrified to search for the source. Terrified was an exaggeration but Kiley honestly dreaded finally acknowledging that he was a part of all this too.
This meant she would have to spend every Saturday seeing him at rehearsals, and who knows they might even have extra meeting days, and at the same time, avoid having Jackson or basically anyone who breaths at her school know of their work relationship.
No biggie, right?
She heaved a long sigh as her shoulders drooped in realization. Why, oh why, did she give up detention to be caught up tangled in this mess?
He could almost see the gears shifting in her head as she placed her head on the palm of her petite hands that he had an weirdly wanting feeling to touch. Was it as soft as it looks? He thought, only to shake his head vigorously and chid himself for such a thought.
She was the girlfriend of his ultimate rival for crying out loud! Did he really just spend the past ten minutes observing her?
Unfortunately, yes.
Did he want to find out why she was crying that day? Hell yes.
Did he want to get to know this 'Pretty' more? Weirdly enough, his answer to himself was yet another yes.
"Jesus Christ, I'm talking to myself in my head," He muttered to himself as he rubbed his hand over his face in a disorientated manner.
"Do you have something to add on, Mr. Tyne?" Mr. Nash prompted, trying to hide his grin as he had noticed how Kai was reacting to just looking at that girl. It was quite an amusing sight, if he must say, and he just loved to tease his students. It was what helped blossomed his close relationship with most of them anyways.
"Uh..." Kai cleared his throat, struggling to think of what to say. Shit, what was he talking about before? He cursed in his mind, racking his brains for a smart reply that won't get him disdainful looks from the smartly-dressed adults and experienced dancers around the table. "I know the Nutcracker?"
The table erupted into laughs and scoffs, and Kai was secretly thankful for those who tried to stifle their humour. He internally face-palmed himself as he realized how incomplete and weird his sentence came out as. I know the Nutcracker, really Kai, what are you Barbie? He scolded in his head as he hid his face in his palms.
"Why, that's very nice, Kai. Perhaps you know the dance?" His principal prompted, trying very hard to hide his own laugh as well.
"Yeah, I know the dance! That's exactly what I meant to say!" His head shot up in glee only to realize he sounded even more of an idiot than before. A string of curses hung themselves up in his head as he groaned inwardly. Not again, he thought, scolding himself for never ever thinking his words through before they could escape his mouth.
