Thirty Eight

Location: Gyeongju, South Korea
Time: 8:12 pm

"Search the area." Officer Namjoon signalled his men to look inside the house of Judy So.

Police cars were parked around the area as the search operation began. His men barricaded the whole area with caution tapes, not wanting anyone to mess up with the possible pieces of evidence that they might get inside.

Officer Namjoon immediately requested his men to come with him and do the search as soon as the interrogation of Judy So ended.

His hunch was telling him that there's something off about everything that she's saying.

Unless they find clues or evidence that will support Ms. So's claim, Namjoon won't believe any of her words.

He looked at the people who were began flocking on the front yard, intrigued to see police officers rummaging through the whole house.

He sighed, calling out officer Hoseok who immediately understood what he wanted and sent off the people back to their homes.

"There's nothing to see here. Please go back home." Officer Hoseok calmly requested the civilians to move away.

"What's happening there?" An old man asked, pointing out to the barricaded house.

Hoseok sighed. "Nothing, sir. It's best if you just go home." He patiently uttered.

"I know the woman who lives there. Did something bad happen to her?" the old man persisted.

Hoseok stopped. "You know her?"

"Yes. She used to help me take care of my granddaughter whenever she has the time." The old man responded.

"Have you noticed anything out of ordinary about her?" Officer Hoseok asked.

The old man looked confused. "None that I could think of."

The officer nodded his head. He proceeded on requesting the civilians to go back to their homes which they complied after a while of convincing.

Officer Namjoon looked around the perimeter. He was engrossed in checking the surrounding area when officer Lee came to him.

"Sir, we found something." He reported.

Namjoon immediately made his way inside the house. He was guided inside the room with officer Lee by his side.

"Here, sir." He lifted the cloth covering the underneath of the bed.

The officer stopped, seeing boxes with a large sum of money filling each.

"What the hell?" Officer Namjoon ducked down and reached out his gloved hand, pulling one of the boxes.

He checked the authenticity of the money and realized that they are real.

"Not only that sir." Officer Lee uttered, going near one of the drawers. He opened it and revealed grams of drugs and other drug paraphernalia hidden inside.

Officer Namjoon huffed, not expecting  any of these.

"We also found these." Officer Lee handed him an envelope.

He looked inside and saw pictures of the deceased Kim Taehyung from the time when he was still alive. All were taken in secrecy.

"I think she's telling the truth, sir." Officer Lee uttered.

Officer Namjoon sighed, handing the envelope back to Lee.

"Make sure to gather all the pieces of evidence with care." He ordered, heading out of the house.
