Forty Six

Location: ASAN Medical Center, Seoul, Korea

The constant beeping sound of a machine was the first thing Taehyung had woken up to.

He looked at his surroundings, noticing the familiar white walls and white everything surrounding him.

His head began to ache, breathing faltering as he tried to get a hold of his surroundings.

Taehyung tried moving his right hand to remove the ventilation tube in his mouth but halted, feeling a pain on his right arm.

With careful movements, he looked at his arm, seeing a bondage there that instantly reminded him of everything that happened.

His heart rate quickened at the image of Jungkook falling down on him with his blood drenching his hands.

Memories of everything that transpired came flashing before his eyes, making him panic.

Taehyung disregarded the pain as he removed the tube, feeling suffocated. He gasped for air, tears brimming in his eyes as he looked for the emergency button on the side of his bed.

He's having difficulty breathing from anxiety, thinking of Jungkook being shot to protect him.

He gripped the bed, his heart palpitating when a doctor came rushing inside.

"Mr. Kim, calm down." the doctor immediately went to his side with two nurses restraining him.

He felt the ventilation tube being placed back in his mouth, vision starting to go hazy.

He couldn't comprehend what the doctor was trying to say, feeling himself losing his breath from panic.

Taehyung felt the stinging pain of an injection in his right arm, the initial effect made him calm down.

"Everything is going to be alright." The doctor's voice rang in his head as his eyes slowly closed.

From the opened door, right before he succumbed to sleep, he saw the figure of Jimin entering his room, looking so worried as he gazed at him.

"Tae.."

He heard him call out before finally closing his eyes.

"Where is he?" Taehyung asked. He looked at Jimin who's busy peeling off an apple.

It's been a week since he was hospitalized and yet he still hasn't gotten any news about Jungkook.

"Chim." He called out once more, making the blonde stop, sighing in frustration as he looked at him.

"Don't think about anyone else right now, Tae. For once, think about yourself.. get better first, please?" Jimin clasped his hand, worried to see how he seemed to have become thinner.

Taehyung shakes his head. "I won't feel better, not until I learn about what happened to him. Chim.. please." He begged, wanting nothing in this world than to know about Jungkook.

The blonde sighed in defeat. "Fine." He started, making Taehyung hopeful.

"Last time I heard, he's been admitted in this hospital but was being guarded by the police." Jimin answered.

"Is he okay? Have they treated his wounds? Where is his room?" Taehyung asked in a rush, his heart thumping off his chest, knowing that Jungkook was taken to the hospital.

"Will you ask one at a time?" Jimin shakes his head, seeing how eager he is to know about the assassin.

"I don't know if he's okay or not. I heard people talking in the hallway about an assassin being held in a room on the ground floor." Jimin answered, making Taehyung tear up.
