Three Years Later

Naruto

You were debriefing your team after returning from a mission at the gates when you heard Kotetsu say something about Naruto reutrning soon.  You rolled your eyes and then sent your squad back to their homes.  You walked over to the two of them, asking about times they thought he would be back inside the village.

"Well, he's down the road and making his way here at a sprint."  Isumo pointed out, causing your head to turn to the fast moving orange streak that was running towards the village.  He ran right past you, that you didn't really care about.  It was his decision to leave, you weren't going to make special time to welcome him back or talk to him at all.  "You really should welcome him back, I mean, weren't you two a thing before he left."

"Exactly, he left.  He left me here so he can chase down a traitor to bring back to the village.  We broke up for a reason Izumo, remember that.  He left me here alone, when I had nothing else.  So no, I will not be welcoming him back to the village, he could have left permanently for all I care."  You snapped and then walked away, making your way through the village towards Hokage building, lost in your own thoughts until your name in a conversation pulled you out of it.  You looked up and saw Sakura and Naruto talking to each other, and they were talking about you.  

"I'm sorry Naruto, no one has seen much of her since she joined the ANBU.  after you left she changed, she shut all of us out."  Sakura said, sadness flashing across her face at the thought of you.  The two of you had been close once, and then you just stopped talking to her.  You walked closer and then her eyes flashed over to you, her eyes widening as she looked at you.  "(Y/N)?"

Naruto spun on his heels as he smiled while looking at you, taking in all of your change at once.  You'd finally shed the last of that stupid baby weight, your body now defined and muscular.  You grew a couple inches since the lsat time that he saw you.  Puberty over all did you wonders:  clear skin, natural pout, your face had slimmed quite a bit.  But Naruto's expression change from happy and excited to confused rather quickly as his eyes took in your expression and then met your cold and dead eyes.

"(Y/N)?  What happened to you?  What changed?"  He asked softly, trying to make sense of what happened as you scoffed and then shook your head, almost wanting to burst into laughter as you looked at him. "I don't understand."

"I told you before you left that you leaving the village meant things were going to change.  You didn't realize that I meant me most of all.  You were the thing I lived for Naruto, you were a light and then you abandoned me."  You snapped, moving to walk passed him and Sakura.  Sakura stepped back, detecting something in your aura that was different.  It wasn't as cold as it was before seeing Naruto again, she had hope that he would bring you back to who you were.  "But remember this Naruto,  I am not the (Y/N) you left behind.  That girl is dead and you're the one that killed her."

You turned your back to them and then quickly jumped to the top of the buildings and away from the duo who were staring in shock.  You never admitted to yourself that he had hurt you so badly, and your heart broke admitting it.  But you weren't going to forgive him so easily, he had hurt you to the point that you coul dbarely function.  If he wanted your trust at all, he was going to have to fight to earn it.  After all, you really weren't the girl that you used to be.  

Althought, you couldn't help but wonder if things for you would be different now.  Now that he was back, would you become that girl again?  Would you change for him?  Coule you be happy?

Sasuke

It was weird going three years without him, how both of you had changed since then.  You changed in a lot of ways, thought you hadn't seen Sasuke at all since he left, but you couldn't bring yourself to think about him or his betrayal.  But now here you stood, hidden from his view, in a demolished hideout, trying to catch your breath.  Naruto came sprinting out of a hall, but you could't bring yourself to move from where you were or to even unmask your chakra.
