You Protect Him

Naruto

You looked around and then sighed softly as you walked through the woods, looking at the back of Naruto's head as you walked beside Sakura, and listened to Sai and Naruto argue. You cast your eyes down to the ground and stayed silent, trying to listen to the sounds around you. You had this feeling of dread seeping into your core and it made you uneasy. You were making Sakura feel uneasy, whenever she would try to talk to you, you would just get out of your skin, because the focus of chakra to your ears, whenever she would say something it was extremely loud.

You were walking in silence when you heard the familiar sound of something flying through the air. You tracked it with your ears and then launched yourself forward, jumping in front of Naruto, blocking the flying kunai from hitting him with one of your own. You looked around quickly once they stopped, looking for anything that would give you a hint as to who was going where. You tried to see where the attacks were coming from, moving around the entire group to block attacks, shocking all by how fast you had become.

You threw a shuriken into the trees and heard a thud and then a group of shinobi began to emerge from the trees. You squint your eyes, the whole group going back to back as you sized up your enemies. You were the first to move, slicing and cutting through rogue shinobi as you went, blocking where you could. You took out your few and then turned to Naruto and was about to get attacked from behind and he was too focused on the ninja he was already fighting. Your body moved before your mind could really process. You just barely made it to guard Naruto when the blade was about to drive through him.

Your gasp cut off all the fighting around you, causing you to look down at the bloody wound, watching blood soak your clothes around the blade. Your hands moved to the wound as you grabbed the handle of the blade. Your hands shook as you pulled the blade away, feeling a wave of nausea take over your body as you stumbled. You were able to steady yourself enough to weave a couple hand signs, causing Sai, Yamato, Sakura, and Naruto (who was dragged by Sakura) to jump into the trees as the earth began to quake and crumble in a large circle around you, swallowing all of the enemy ninja into the crushing stony earth.

Pain waved over you, causing your body to freeze, and you felt yourself beginning to fall. Naruto caught you before you fell and worsened the damage to your body. You took heavy breaths from the pain in your abdomen. Sakura ran over and began to use her healing jutsu to close the wound. Naruto took your hand in his, not caring about how bloody it was and looked in your eyes.

"You saved me, why?" He asked as he looked at you, using his free hand to stroke your hair, moving it away from your face. You looked up into his cerulean blue eyes and lifted your hand to stroke his cheek softly.

"Because I never stopped loving you Naruto. No matter how hard I tried, I can't live without you being alive." You whispered, seeing black spots. "Because if anyone deserves to live, it's you Naruto."

You passed out from the pain and the blood loss after that. Though Sakura was to heal you, she knew that the group needed to rest. Naruto held you close as Yamato created a small hut so that you could camp out for the night, while Sakura and Sai summoned the mats and made it into a temporary home.

Sasuke

It took a lot out of you, fighting in the war. Then there was all the worrying you did about Sasuke, the idiot joined the Akatsuki. You were assigned to help Naruto train along with Killer Bee, so after traveling with Naruto and Killer Bee and running into Itachi and Pein, you decided to join Itachi in taking out Kabuto. You found that you really like being around Itachi and you wished that he was alive so you could get to know who he was better.
