"I just... there's this boy." Bella let out, seemingly taken aback by her own words too when Tomi froze halfway into their hug.
She frowned─ out of confusion or bewilderment, she wasn't quite sure.
"You.. like someone?" Tomi asked quietly in slight disbelief.
Bella had always been the kind of person that was too shy to ask the owner of a puppy if she could pet their animal, Tomi couldn't really imagine her accosting a boy, even less the High School ones. Those often were... odd, according to movies and online chat rooms.
"Well, no─.. maybe." She shook her head, swatting away the words with a waving hand. Bella went past her half-sister to walk up the stairs, but Tomi followed with heavy feet.
