chapter sixteen..
a mystery's end and beginning"Can you answer my question?
No no you can't
You have tried and tried
I have tried to help you
To the best of my ability
If only you trust me
I have lost all my hope"
Crouched on a beach nearby, the small brunette tossed a small rock the size of an egg from her left palm into her right, sighing through her nose when she grew impatient again.
The waves offered a beaconing song of calmness, one she'd always loved above all when spending her summer days around the Reservation with her childhood friend, Jacob, and yet she couldn't get herself to calm down.
The past few days had been horrifying in a way she couldn't forget, and the image of her sister so terrified had haunted her so thoroughly that she hadn't been able to sleep at all.
Crackling caught her attention, and she rose her head slowly to watch as Alice Cullen stepped closer.
It'd been hard to allow the wolves to let her get so close to the border of their home, but for the safety of Forks residents Sam, the alpha of the pack, had allowed it.
"Hello," The vampire girl crossed her hands on her front, and sat near the girl without any kind of crookedness to her walk. It was still so satisfying to watch vampires exist.
"Hi." The girl croaked uncomfortably, deciding to stare out into the water instead of focusing on Alice's eyes which she presumed would be filled with creatures of harsh judgement.
"Tomi is safe."
"Good." She chewed on her lower lip slowly, and debated asking further. "And James?"
"Off the radar." Alice hissed at a nearby bug, before flicking it so violently the thing went flying yards away from the pair.
