the nature of desire
enraptures the mien of
a deceitful denial,
that pacifies the heart of a liar,
and commands the spirit
of a soulless thief

whom trapeze on a mirage of sharp wire
wrapped around the throats of
desperate whispers,
which plead to the night in tortured moans;
beckoning soothing fires forth
to char all evidence of salty tears

shed by ugly brides, draped in silk
to be dutifully wed to conniving trolls,
who stumble on the bodies of children
and line their cashmere pockets
with their wailing adolescent bones.

fiends--twin terror--for every man there is a woman--
polishing knives
made from holy tongues
and dancing on the graves
of inconvenient truths
