Toni

"Here toni you need to eat" Kevin said walking in the room with a bowl of fruit.

"Not hungry" I mumbled laying on my side.

"You haven't ate anything in two damn weeks"

"Water is what I eat"

"That's not food toni and you know it" Kevin sighed sitting at the foot of the bed. "I know it's tough on you toni but you have to eat"

"I'll eat when I'm ready" I said as my vision got blur.

"I'll leave these right here for you then" he said putting the bowl of fruit on the nightstand beside me.

Kevin is letting me stay with him because I can be in a house that smells just like Cheryl, I would cry nonstop

Two weeks ago she took a bullet for me. I can't explain how I'm feeling.

Flashback

"HELP HELP ME" i cried taking her tux jacket off putting pressure on her bullet wound. "ANYONE PLEASEE" I shouted louder.

Then I saw Kevin walk out the building. He saw me and quickly ran over.

"What the fuck happened"

"Someone shot at us and she push me away please call the cops" I cried not wanting her to dying on me.

"Just Incase I don't make it, I love you"

"I love you too" I cried hearing the sirens. "No stay with me" I said seeing her eyes started to close.

"We'll take it from here" the paramedics said with a bed.

"You ride with them, I'll follow behind y'all" Kevin whispered to me.

"Ok" I nodded and got in the ambulance truck.

Once we made it to the hospital they pushed her into a emergency surgery. They said I couldn't go back and I was starting to panic in the waiting room until Kevin showed up and calmed me down.

After two hours of waiting the nurse finally came.

"Toni topaz?"

"I'm right here" I said walking to her.

"She lost a lot of blood on the way here but she made it, if y'all didn't call then and there she would've die"

"Ok, can I see here" I said as my vision got blurry.

"Bad thing is she's in a coma"

"Ok" I said as the tears fell down my face. Kevin came up and hugged me. The nurse nodded her head for us to follow her.

When we got to Cheryl's room door I started crying my eyes out. I went straight to her side looking at all the cords they had connect to her.

"It's all my fault" I cried taking her hand in mines.

Flashback ends

I started crying softly thinking about it. I want to go see her but it's not visitation hours yet. I have to wait some minutes to see her.

"You eat anything?" Kevin asked walking in the room.

"Yes kev I have" I lied.

"Nothing on that plate has been moved" he said crossing his arms. "Do I need to call betty here, you know how she is when your not eating"

"No"

"Eat woman, I'm not leaving this room until you eat something"

"Fine" I groan. I reached over and grabbed a grape and put it in my mouth eating it. "Mmm"

"See now eat everything" he smiled. I grabbed the plate off the table and started eating.

"I'll bring you some more water"

"Ok" I said eating a strawberry. I check the time and it was 1pm. "I can finally go see her" I said putting the plate to the side. I got out of bed when Kevin walked in.

"Where are you going?" He asked as I went through his clothes.

"To see cheryl, it's visiting hours" I said grabbing some sweat pants and a shirt.

"Ok, want me to come?" He asked sitting the bottle of water down.

"No id like to go alone" I smiled.

"Ok" he nodded leaving the room. I got changed and grabbed all the things I need then went to my car.

I sighed knowing I shouldn't go alone but I am.

When I got to the hospital I asked to see cheryl and they told me the fifth door on the right.

When I walked in I saw they took some of the cords off her. I sighed pulling a chair by her side.

"I'm back, I miss your laugh and flirting" I said grabbing her hand. "I've finally ate something, Kevin forced me. I really what you to wake up, I'm the one that should be here laying on the bed if you didn't push me" I said as tears formed in my eyes.

"Knock knock" someone said. I looked and it was the boy I met a month ago. "Don't mean to ruin your privacy"

"It's ok, I need company anyway"

"How is she?" He asked standing beside me.

"Don't know they nurse hasn't walking in yet" I said wiping the tears that fell down my cheek.

"She's going to be alright, don't cry" he said placing his hand on my shoulder.

"I was the one who was supposed to get shot, she pushed me out the way and took it" I said as tears formed in my eyes again.

"Well the person who shot at y'all is behind bars, they got him two days ago"

"Ok" I nodded blinking the tears away.

"I'm going to go and let you have some privacy, I just wanted to check on her"

"Ok" I said as I watched him walk out the room. "At least you have justice for the guy that hurt you. I love you" I said getting up and kissing her forehead. I let go of her hand and moved the chair back.

I walked to the door and looked back at her before leaving.
