I am now sitting in Erik's car quietly.

I hear Erik start the ignition and put the car in drive. "Christine, this is going to take a while, so fill free to take a nap."

"I honestly couldn't go to sleep if I tried, Erik."

Erik just mumbles an "Ok" and turns on the radio.
--------------------------------------------

I don't know how long we've been driving, but when Erik stops we are at my house.

I quickly open the car door and run into the house, Erik following closely at my heels.

"Dad!" I scream. No answer.

"Daddy, please it's me, Christine!" I'm starting to gain tears in my eyes.

I run to the bathroom, like in my dream, and try to turn the knob. It's locked.

"Dad!" I scream and start to hit the door. "Daddy, please open up!" Tears are streaming down my cheeks.

Erik is right behind me, he pushes me to the side. Then, surprisingly, he just kicks the door down. I don't have any time to thank him, I need my dad.

"Dad!" I yell as I find him lying on the bathroom floor, barely breathing.

"Christine" He whispers in astonishment then he closes his eyes.

"No!, No Daddy! Please!" I beg.

"Christine, I need you to go down stars and wait for me."

I turn to look at Erik, "No."

"Christine, if you don't obey me right now, your father will not make it."

I dislike to leave my Dad like this, but if Erik can save him, then so be it.

I quickly get up and go down stars to the living room. Nothing has changed since I left.
-------------------------------------------

It's now 8:00 p.m.

It's been three hours.

Erik still hasn't came down with news about my Dad.

Then suddenly I hear footsteps and Erik makes his way into the living room and takes a seat near me.

Erik doesn't look me in the eye and he won't speak. Something's wrong.

"Erik, is Dad alright?"

Erik gives a long sigh and finally looks at me. "Christine, I have gotten him to stabilize, but I don't know if he will last the night."

I can't say anything, I'm too numb.

"You may go see him if you'll like," Erik softly says.

I just nod my head and make my way up to my dad's room. I quietly open the door and walk in.

My father, my big, strong father. He know looks no where near as strong nor big as he used to be.

I go over to him and sit on the other side of the bed and take his hand in mine. He would always sing to me whenever I was sick, so it's time to repay the favor.

I softly start to sing the song he would always sing to me.

Deep in the meadow, under the willow
A bed of grass, a soft green pillow
Lay down your head, and close your sleepy eyes
And when again they open, the sun will rise.

Here it's safe, here it's warm
Here the daisies guard you from every harm
Here your dreams are sweet and tomorrow brings them true
Here is the place where I love you.

Deep in the meadow, hidden far away
A cloak of leaves, a moonbeam ray
Forget your woes and let your troubles lay
And when again it's morning, they'll wash away.

Here it's safe and here it's warm
And here the daisies guard you from every harm
And here your dreams are sweet and tomorrow brings them true
Here is the place where I love you.

"Please, wake up Daddy."
