The rising sun bloomed on the horizon emanating the golden hue along with different shades of orange and pink all over the sky. The morning bells were ringing in the magnificent Lord Shiva Temple on the riverside. Chirping birds and sound of the morning prayers were mixed with the sound of calmly flowing waters of River Ganga. The atmosphere was indeed, serene. The morning looked beautiful.

Amidst the reflection of the rising sun in the calm river, emerged the calm, muscular prince Yuvraj Veerbhadra Singh Rajput swiftly. The calm yet, violent prince came out of the river after taking the bath. It was Monday, and the Yuvraj, being a staunch believer of Lord Shiva, took bath in River Ganga and worshipped the Almighty like every Monday.

His dark black hair touched the back of his neck. The big golden earrings of his brave grandfather, Maharaja Mahendra Singh Rathore gave strength to the young prince. He was really close to his grandfather who was killed in the battle of Vijaygarh by the little princess of their filthy neighbouring kingdom. He was burning in anger and frustration to take his revenge since last five years.

Twenty-five year old prince, indeed had the qualities to be the king. He was violent, yet calm, just like his name, Veerbhadra. He was always one step ahead from his rivals, yet honest with his people. He was merciless for the ones whom he hated, yet generous for the ones whom he loved. When everyone was waiting for his coronation, he wanted to prove his worth to his father, his people and his kingdom, Shivgarh.

His hazel green eyes had anger, disgust and hatred for the Princess of Vijaygarh, the cold-hearted murderer of his grandfather. His long moustache added royalty and authority on his handsome face. His broad shoulders and masculine chest screamed of his valor and physical strength which were painted with the scars of his previous battle. The glistening water droplets on his masculine bare chest embellished the scars of the war.

The valiant prince had conquered the powerful kingdom of Narendranagar, which was situated on the opposite banks of the river Ganga just to prove his worth to his father, Maharaja Jai Singh Rajput. He had made his maiden victory last month and he was proud of himself.

The galloping of horse attracted his attention as Yuvraj Veerbhadra Singh Rajput came out of the river wiping himself with a towel that his bodyguard friend, Uday Singh Chauhan passed to him. Uday was a military officer, the commander-in-chief of the Rajputana army of Shivgarh. Having played together since childhood, Uday and Veerbhadra were the best friends who learnt swordsmanship and military skills together.

Uday smiled at the young man who jumped off from the horse stopping just in front of both of them. The young man with handsome features smiled back at Uday and bowed down out of respect in front of the Prince.

"Your highness, I have something important to tell you", the young lad said.

Veerbhadra glared at him with his hazel brown eyes that had anger in them. His friend Uday knew Veerbhadra since childhood, and hence, he realized the prince was annoyed to see Trayambak Sharma, the informer since he had strictly instructed his spy to stay in Vijaygarh, no matter whatever happens and report to him secretly. Yuvraj was indeed furious to see Trayambak as he didn't want anyone to know that he had sent someone to spy on Vijaygarh.

Understanding the importance of situation, Uday tried to stop Yuvraj Veerbhadra who began climbing the stairs of the temple.

"What?", Veerbhadra barked looking at Trayambak.

Fear was evident in the eyes of the informer. Struggling to speak coherently, Trayambak stammered, "Your high... highness, I cam...came to t... tell th.. that....".

"Speak properly", the prince Yuvraj Veerbhadra Singh Rajput hissed as he closed his eyes to calm down his anger.

"Your highness, the princess ascended the throne", Trayambak said quickly releasing the breath he was holding.

Veerbhadra chuckled upon hearing the news while Uday was shocked. Uday Singh Chauhan, the commander-in-chief of the Rajputana army of Shivgarh could not believe that the royal Rajputs of Vijaygarh were ready to bow their heads in front of the seventeen year old girl. He wanted the son of Ajeet Singh Rathore and the puppet in their hands, Vikrant Singh Rathore to be the king so that the arrogant princess would have tasted defeat.

Since years, Ajeet Singh Rathore, the shrewd younger brother of their rival Maharaja Vijay Singh Rathore had been loyal to Shivgarh for his greed for the throne, Uday thought. He wondered howcome the old king had handed over his kingdom to his daughter especially when Ajeet Singh Rathore had taken most of the ministers of Vijaygarh in the favor of his son, either by gold and land or assurances of better future. A jolt of lightning ran down his spine as Uday realized that their goal of winning Vijaygarh was swept from their hands.

Uday knew it was easier to handle the stupid royal Vikrant Singh Rathore who was an alcoholic brat. Uday was also well-aware of the fact that handling the new Queen Aparajita Singh Rathore was like playing with fire. Uday always envied Aparajita, as she was just like her name, the invincible. Uday realized the Queen Aparajita Singh Rathore was a cold-hearted murderer who killed his ideal, the rowdy king Maharaja Mahendra Singh Rajput, the grandfather of his beloved friend, Yuvraj Veerbhadra Singh Rajput, who was laughing like a lunatic.

Trayambak, the informer, on the other hand, realized a storm was on the way as he saw that the calm prince Yuvraj Veerbhadra Singh Rajput laughing frantically while his sensible bodyguard, the reputed military soldier, Uday Singh Chauhan standing with deep thoughts running in his mind.

"Privacy", Uday commanded signalling the informer to leave both of them alone.

Breaking his laughter, Veerbhadra said, "So, a little fragile girl will be ruling Vijaygarh. Wait and see, how I will snatch away the reigns of Vijaygarh from her hands breaking her confidence and trampling her self-esteem with my feet." Pointing at his foot, he stomped it on the ground angrily.

"She will regret taking birth on the Earth. She killed my grandfather, the renowned king who never faced any defeat. I will ruin her in every possible way." Veerbhadra said smiling as he swore himself to avenge his grandfather's death.

Uday Singh Chauhan looked at him with puzzled face. Sensing the turmoil rising inside his friend's mind, Veerbhadra said, "Uday, trust me, Aparajita will lose to me."

"How?", Uday questioned getting confused.

"I have my ways", he said chuckling as he winked towards his friend.

"She is a skilled warrior and now, a powerful queen", Uday said with confusion written all over his face.

"Don't forget, she is a girl and you know, I always have my way with girls and their stupid emotions", Veerbhadra said flaunting his masculine body on which every girl wished to drool upon.

"She is a queen, for God's sake, Veer", Uday said in a concerning voice as a friend. He was aware of Veerbhadra's popularity amongst the princesses of neighbouring kingdoms, dancers and even concubines. The prince was a man of principles, who respected women and had never touched any woman in a diagraceful manner while females tried to gather his attention desperately. However, Uday realized his childhood friend Veer was blinded with anguish, and hatred.

"It will be fun to play with the queen, then", Veerbhadra remarked chuckling at his thoughts.

Signaling Uday to instruct Trayambak to return back and keep an eye on the royal family of Vijaygarh, the guileful prince Yuvraj Veerbhadra Singh Rajput rushed towards the temple of Lord Shiva. He was already late for his morning prayers but he knew the delay was worth it.
