PHANtastic Holiday (A Christmas Special)

The Grinch

"C'monnnn Dan, just come on out. I'm sure it doesn't look that bad" I heard Pj say from outside of the dressing room I stood in.

"Of course it doesn't look bad, I mean I did pick it out after all" said Chris, obviously very proud that he made me come Christmas shopping with them.

There I stood. Staring at myself in the mirror at the horrible Christmas sweater that Chris made me try on. It was green and had a little reindeer on it. God, how did I even agree to this?

Flashback to two hours ago:

I heard a knock at my door which I wasn't expecting. I was still in my pajamas. I walked up and slowly made my way towards the door. Right as I opened it Chris bursts in with Pj following.

"Hello Dan! Isn't it a lovely day? How are you?" said Chris cheerfully.

"Tired." I moaned. "What are you two doing here? It's ten in the morning." I rubbed my eyes so I could try to read the time on my clock.

"Dan it's 1pm" said Pj smiling.

"Oh.."

"Daniel!" started Chris "take a seat!"

Oh god. Here we go again.

"As you know. Pj and I have been dating for almost a full year. And this is going to be our first Christmas as a couple" he looked over at peej and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek.

"So you see Dan, we don't want you to feel like this changes things. We will all be spending Christmas together like we do every year. With the exception of Christmas night when pj and I-"

" I think he gets it Chris, no need to go into details" chimed in pj.

Chris looked back at pj and gave him a wink. This is how it was ever since they started dating. Don't get me wrong I think they make a great couple. I just wish that I wasn't so lonely.

"Dan, look, what Chris is trying to say is... you seem really negative about Christmas this year. And all we want is for you to be happy and get in the Christmas spirit"

"Yeah I mean you saw how miserable the Grinch was right? We don't want you to feel that way" said Chris.

Wait.. Did they just compare me to the grinch?

"So," continued Chris "we decided that we want to take you Christmas shopping with us! Maybe looking at all these holiday decorations will put you in the right mood."

"No way, you're gonna try to make me try on an ugly Christmas sweater." I said

"No I won't I promise!" said Chris

I didn't believe him but they weren't wrong. I wasn't really in much of a Christmas mood. Maybe it would help me feel better.

I got a quick change of clothes and we headed off to the mall.

Back in the dressing room:

Oh yeah... now I remember.

"Dan," it was Pj knocking on the door, "are you okay in there?"

"Yeah, I'm fine." I walked out of the dressing room and saw Pj and Chris still waiting there.

"Oh it looks wonderful! Am I great at picking out clothes or what!" said Chris cheerfully.

"Dan it honestly does look nice." chimed in Pj.

I shrugged. I took another look at it in the mirror and realized that it was actually that bad. I decided to get it.

We all took outside the mall now and looked at each other.

"What should we do now?" I asked.

"Well since it's Anthony and Ian's last day in London they are throwing a small party and I thought maybe we should all go." Said Pj.

"Sure sounds like fun" I replied.

"Well then let's get going shall we?" Said Chris.
