PHANtastic Holiday (A Christmas Special)

The Final Week

Phil's POV:

More time had passed and now there's just a week left till Christmas day. I couldn't be more excited. Everything between Dan and I was perfect.

Dan was putting the last finishing touches on his apartment. It looked so wonderful and Christmasy. I made some hot chocolate for Dan and I and set it down on the table.

Dan came over and sat down next to me.

"Well, just a week now. I'm pretty excited." He leaned over and gave me a kiss on the cheek.

After a while I stood up.

"Well I need to go, I'm supposed to help my mom with something." I lied.

"Aw okay. I'll see you later?" Dan said giving me a goodbye hug.

I nodded and left. I didn't like lying to Dan. But I also didn't want him knowing I was going to buy his Christmas present. To be honest, I'm not really sure what to get Dan. He means the world to me and I want to find the perfect gift.

"Get fireworks!", I think I made a mistake calling Chris "ones that spell out his name in the sky! Oh how romantic that would be!"

I was already in the store and Chris was talking so loud through the phone that people kept staring at me.

"Chris where would I find fireworks that spell out Dan's name?"

"Oh, right. Silly me."

I couldn't help but laugh. It was pretty silly of him to even suggest the idea.

"Do you want us to come shopping with you and help?" Chris asked.

"No thanks I think I'll be fine. I'll talk to you soon okay?"

"Okay, oh and I'll look for the fireworks!" Chris said before hanging up.

Part of me hoped Chris could actually find the fireworks because it would probably be better than any gift I could find. The other part of me laughed because I still thought it was silly.

I looked through some video games and thought of maybe buying Dan a few so me and him could play them together. Just then I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned around.

"Phil.." It was Laney. What the hell was she doing here? I could feel like my throat was on fire like it was the day I saw her kissing Dan.

"What do you want?" I said, making it obvious I didn't even want to look at her.

"Phil I wanted to apologize about kissing Dan."

"Don't you think its a little late for an apology?" I asked sounding very rude. I didn't care though. I wanted her to go away.

"Look, I understand your angry, but I am very sorry. I was jealous. Jealous of you."

I looked over at her with my eyebrows raised.

"Why would you be jealous of me?" I asked.

"Well, you have someone who truly cares about you, and I guess I wanted that too so that's why I did what I did. I really am sorry. I hope you can forgive me and maybe we can become friends."

I laughed at the idea in my head. But part of me started to believe her apology.

"I have a boyfriend now also. So you don't need to worry about me trying to take Dan. In fact maybe we could all go out to dinner?" She gave me a sincere apologetic look.

"Im not sure, I'll see what Dan thinks." I said.

"Maybe I could also see Dan soon, and apologize to him. You can be there too so you don't have to worry about me trying anything funny."

"Maybe. I'll see."

Laney nodded and finally left. I could still feel that feeling of anger in my throat. I couldn't even think about shopping anymore and walked out the store. I wanted to tell Dan about what just happened. I would just tell him my mom sent me to the store to pick something up for her.

*skip ahead where Phil tells Dan he ran into Laney*

"No way!" Dan said sounding angry. "There is no way we are going to dinner with that girl."

"Maybe we should."

Dan looked over at me surprised.

"I'll be there so its not like she will try anything. She even said she will be with her boyfriend."

After a while of silence Dan spoke up.

"If she says or tries anything bad, anything at all, we leave."

I nodded.

Dan sighed and went over to give me a hug.

"You the only one for me Phil. I love you."

"I love you too." I said hugging him even tighter.

Tomorrow we'd be having dinner with Laney. But it couldn't turn out that bad. At least I hope not.
