"Let's do something fun!" Matty says, his head in my lap on the sofa.
I look over at the clock on the fireplace that read 7.34pm. "You're leaving early in the morning, love."
He sits up, picking up his keys and throws a coat on before looking over at me and signalling for me to stand. I follow in tow.
We walk to the nearest underground station, taking a train into the centre of London. Once we arrive Matty leads us over to the rented bikes, paying for the two of us before I can protest.
London was unusually quiet, the shop lights lit up Matty's face as he glanced over his shoulder from in front to check on me. We'd been riding for an hour now.
I pulled out my phone to take a photo wanting to remember the way he looked. Tour was starting tomorrow and I knew he was stressed so this was a distraction. I always wanted the image of happy Matty in my mind.
He stops his bike abruptly causing me to almost crash into him. I get off my bike and walk towards him, he leans on the bridge wall.
The city was always so pretty at night, all the lights reflecting off the water. I close my eyes and take a deep breath to catch myself, pulling Matty into a hug. It had hit me all of a sudden.
"I'm going to miss you." I mumble into his coat. His hand coming up to twirl my hair.
"I'm going to miss you too, Bea. More than you know." Matty says quietly.
"Race you to the bike drop off, loser buys the wine on the way home!" He says quickly running back to his bike before cycling off.
"Fuck off!" I shout after him as he laughs flipping me off.
The underground was still full of life even at three in the morning. A busker stood with his guitar playing a song and it echoed through the station.
A few people were stood on the platform waiting for their train, tired expressions on their faces.
Matty and I sat on an unoccupied bench nearby. A bottle of wine cradled in my arms that I'd bought because I lost the race. He hummed along to the guitar before patting his pockets and standing up.
I watched him walk over to the man, placing money in his guitar case before praising him. The expression on the mans face told me he was thankful.
Looking away I check the time on the board to see when the train would be here. It was delayed by a few minutes.
The familiar chords sound from the guitar and I tilt my head in confusion before the voice I knew as if it were my own sounded through the station.
Don't you see me, I
I think I'm falling, I'm falling for youI turn to look back at the busker, he's now sat on the bench behind him watching Matty in awe as he plays the guitar.
And don't you need me I
I think I'm falling, I'm falling for youEveryone has turned to watch the scene now. The acoustics soft in the air as I swallow the lump in my throat.
On this night, and in this light
I think I'm fallingHe looks at me as I mouth 'I think I'm falling' for the harmony. He bowed his head at me and smiled.
I'm falling for you
And maybe you, change your mindThe song ends and the few people in the station clap. Matty smiles awkwardly and thanks everyone before giving back the guitar and patting the mans shoulder in gratitude.
He walks back over to me, stopping in front of me so that he towered over with his curls falling in his vision. I stand up and brush them away before kissing him.
We hold each other for a few moments, I didn't want to let him go and I could tell from his tight hold he didn't want too either. I let the few tears spill onto his coat.
I pull back as I hear the train arrive. I pull Matty into the carriage and we take our seats, he turns to me and wipes the tears from my cheeks.
"I love you so much." I tell him sincerely, the crinkles by his eyes appeared as he smiled.
"I love you so much more."
