I was wearing a lavender coloured dress with my old battered superstars on.

Matty came down and ran back upstairs to grab the camera once he saw me.

"You match with the cottage, c'mon smile Sting." He says, holding up the camera to his face.

I smile as he takes a ridiculous amount of photos, claiming he "couldn't get enough of me" which made me blush and then he proceeded to take more photos to my dismay.

"Matty, can we please go now? Allen wants a walk." He sighs and runs back inside to grab Allen's chain, coming back out and holding my hand in his.

The cottage was surrounded by acres of fields and woods, it was refreshing to be away from the city. Allen lead the way as Matty swung our arms around without a care in the world, swaying us side to side.

He stops in his tracks, his eyes wandering for a second until they land on something catching his attention. He pulls us forward, almost breaking out into a run.

We end up at a river bank, Matty takes off his t-shirt followed by his jeans and shoes. He looks to me "C'mon!"

My clothes fall to the ground and I run in after him. He splashes me with water before treading further into the river. I swim after him and splash him back, Allen seeing this as a queue to jump into the water as well.

He sprays us with water before swimming over and shoving his way in between Matty and I. I laugh at Matty's face as Allen shoves himself into him, as he could barely swim.

"Good boy!" I say scratching his ears.

"Don't be a dick, Allen!" Matty groans jokingly, planting a kiss onto his dogs face.

We were on the bank of the river, I was lying down making a flower chain of lavender. I feel a weight on my stomach and squint my eyes to see Matty's head laying there.

"I'm going to miss you when I leave." Matty says timidly, tilting his head to look up at me.

Pausing my actions, I reply  "I'm going to miss you too but I'll visit whenever I can."

I feel him nod. "I'll be thinking about you all the time, Sting."

He moves to lay on his side, head still propped on my stomach. I place the finished flower crown on his head. Matty grins up at me and touches it, closing his eyes before reopening them. I feel his fingers dancing along my leg for a second until they land on the scar that lay there.

"Mines barely visible now but yours is still there." He observes, looking up at me.

"I needed more stitches than you did, I don't do things half arsed!" I joke, causing him to scoff.

"You've always been the braver one."

The sound of children breaks us from our conversation, Matty jumping up quickly and pulling me up with him. I get dressed quickly as does he and we run.

"Allen! C'mon boy." Matty shouts as we're weaving in between the trees, one of his hands holding the crown to his head.

We make it back to the cottage, He kneeled over to catch his breath as I slip inside. I come back out with a glass of water in hand, passing it to him.

"For the record, you're brave too. The bravest person I know." I tell him, pushing his shoulder gently "You've just got shit lungs."

He grabs his phone, kneeling down and pulling me down with him. We take a few photos, the lavender of my dress and his crown complimenting the cottage. Allen sits and judges us until Matty pulls him into the group as well.

"A day I don't want to forget." Matty says, kissing me.

a/n; matty tends to call her 'sting' when he feels most vulnerable / needs reassurance she's still there. they've known each other their whole lives, it's a comfort thing.
